Blue Bombers vs. Tiger-Cats prediction: Win streak on the line

CFL picks confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale.

Blue Bombers -3.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

No two teams have been hotter in the CFL than the Blue Bombers and Tiger-Cats. But they've looked a lot different during their win streaks.

Hamilton's four straight wins came by an average margin of six points while Winnipeg has beaten their last seven opponents by an average of 12.1 points.

The difference is that the Blue Bombers have a dominant defense and the Tigers-Cats' is among the worst. Winnipeg allows the least yards per game (342.9), the third-lowest QB rating (90.3), and the fewest points per game (21.0).

Hamilton's been winning shootouts in September, but that won't be so easy against Winnipeg's defense. Especially with Bo Levi Mitchell leading the league in interceptions (14).

Bomb the defense

The Tiger-Cats' defense has been a huge problem all season. They allow the third-most yards per game (387.4) and the most points per game (31.3).

That opens the door for Oliveira and Zach Collaros to pop off. Oliveira leads the CFL in rushing yards (1,107) and Collaros is coming off his best game of the season - six TD passes in a 55-27 win over the Edmonton Elks.

If Winnipeg can cover for the fifth straight game, a $10 bet pays a $9.52 profit.
