The Grey Cup waits to be presented as we make our 2023 picks between the Blue Bombers and Alouettes

It’s time to crown a champion for the 110th Grey Cup and our Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Montreal Alouettes Grey Cup picks and predictions are based on the best CFL odds from our best sportsbooks in Canada.

Two teams stand on the brink of deciding the 110th Grey Cup after enduring the trials of an exhaustive 18-game regular CFL season and the thrill of the playoffs.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are aiming for their third title in a span of four consecutive championship appearances. Ending the regular season atop the West Division with an impressive 14-4 record, they secured their spot in the final game by triumphing over the B.C. Lions in the playoffs. Winnipeg showcased its dominance by securing victories against the Montreal Alouettes in both regular-season encounters.

On the other side, Montreal is basking in its first Grey Cup appearance in over a decade, eager to break the drought this weekend. Finishing second in the East Division with an 11-7 record during the regular season, the Alouettes fought their way through the playoffs, holding off the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and staging an upset against the Toronto Argonauts to earn a shot at the championship.

The question looms large: can the Alouettes pull off a monumental upset to claim their first title since 2010, or will the Blue Bombers continue their recent reign by securing their third championship in four years? The stage is set for a thrilling showdown to crown the Grey Cup victors.

Here are our best 2023 Grey Cup picks and predictions between the Blue Bombers and Alouettes (odds via our best sports betting apps in Canada; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

2023 Grey Cup pick: Blue Bombers vs. Alouettes

Brady Oliveira Under 92.5 rushing yards (-115 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oliveira ended the regular season averaging 85.2 yards per game. The Winnipeg-born running back has eclipsed this rushing total seven times in his 18 games this season but over the course of his career, he has averaged just 60.5 yards per game on the ground. In his lone Grey Cup start, the Manitoban drew 15 carries for 82 yards.

Oliveira faced the Alouettes six times since he began playing in 2021 and has surpassed this mark only twice — both this season. Overall, Oliveira has rushed for 72 yards per game when facing Montreal. The Als are holding opponents to 109.9 total rushing yards per game this season and their defense forced teams to beat them in the air, holding opponents to the fourth-fewest rush attempts in the league.

Only two running backs have eclipsed this total against the Alouettes all year including the playoffs. Oliveira is one along with A.J. Ouellette of the Argonauts.

Blue Bombers vs. Alouettes best odds

Of our Ontario sports betting apps offering player props for this game, DraftKings has set the highest line. FanDuel drops the total to 89.5 with both sides offered at -114.

Meanwhile, bet365 lowers the bar to 87.5 with either end at -110. It seems tempting to take the Over with this depressed number and the discount in juice given Oliveira’s explosiveness. However, paying up a little bit for the five-yard buffer on the Under is the play here.
