Winnpieg and Toronto usually score lots of points against each other, but that might not be the case when the teams meet Saturday. Let's check out that tilt and others in Week 6 CFL action.

[/]{"component":"video", "type":"youtube", "url":"", "videoSize":"Large" }[/]

CFL Betting Pick of the Week:

Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Toronto Argonauts (Saturday, 4 p.m. ET)

Free CFL Pick: 'Under' 50.5

Best Line Offered: 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3478713, "sportsbooksIds":[19,169,139,999991,1096], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

Winnipeg enters the first meeting in this inter-division home-and-home series at 2-3 straight-up and 3-2 against the spread. The total stayed "under" 55 points in last week’s 20-17 loss to British Columbia as 4.5-point road favorites after going "over" in three of the Blue Bombers’ first four games. This offense has been held to a combined 34 points in its last two road games.

Matt Nichols is back under center after missing time earlier in the season with a knee injury. In two previous starts against BC in that home-and-home series, he completed 57.9 percent of his 57 passing attempts for 376 yards and just one touchdown against three interceptions. The rust is still evident from that earlier layoff.

Toronto slipped to 1-3 SU with last week’s loss, but the cover with the points evened its mark to 2-2 ATS. Heading into this contest at BMO Field, the game opened as a "pick" at 5Dimes with a 50.5-point total line. The total stayed "under" 54 points in last Friday’s tight 16-15 loss to Edmonton and it has now stayed "under" in each of their first four games.

Even with veteran quarterback Ricky Ray in the lineup early in the season, Toronto’s offense had trouble putting points on the board. James Franklin has taken over the reins with Ray done for the season and nothing has really changed. The Argonauts are averaging just 15.3 points per game and they have yet to score more than 20 points in any of their first four contests.

Head-to-Head Betting Trends

Toronto is 11-5 SU in the last 16 meetings, but it has failed to cover in four of the last five games against the Blue Bombers. The total has gone "over" in four of the last five meetings.

Free Betting Pick

Past betting trends in this inter-division matchup may point to a high-scoring affair, but the recent form of each of these offenses suggests that points will be hard to come by in Toronto.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Much thanks to Will (@Argofans) of the Argos Fancast(@ArgosFancast) for joining us on our Week 6 #CFL Preview Show this week to set up the #Argos vs #Bombers matchup. I like the Tiger-Cats this time around at home SU, but I would be very leery laying that may points. The "under" on the generous 51.5-point total could be the best way to go in this one.

British Columbia Lions vs. Ottawa RedBlacks (-6.5)

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3478712, "sportsbooksIds":[19,169,139,999991,1096], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

When: Friday, 7:30 p.m. Total Line: 53.5
Analysis: The Lions salvaged a split in a recent home-and-home series against Winnipeg as part of a 2-2 record this year both SU and ATS. Ottawa is also 2-2 each way with the two losses this season coming against Calgary. I see the RedBlacks covering the points at home against a BC offense that has scored a combined 41 points in two road games.

Montreal Alouettes vs. Calgary Stampeders

When: Saturday, 9 p.m. Total Line: OFF
Analysis: Montreal is firmly at the back of the pack in the CFL (1-3 SU and ATS) entering this game against the undefeated Stampeders (4-0 SU and ATS). This game remains off the board due to the uncertain playing status of Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, but he could probably sit this one out while his team wins a fifth straight game by double figures.

Week 5 Review

Last week’s top pick was Toronto covering a touchdown spread against Edmonton on the road, and the Argonauts came through in a tight one-point loss.
