There’s a quick turnaround for these midweek matches with just one day without Premier League football between the two rounds. Our SBR contributor is ready for his weekly rundown in search of the betting edge.

Despite there being a few goalless draws in the last round we got to see a few good games and will be looking for the same from Round 31.

Burnley v Stoke is our first game of four from Tuesday evening and after Stokes disappointing performance against Leicester, you have to have some doubts as to whether or not they’re going to “show up” for this match against a hard working Burnley side. There’s not too much I like in this one but if the soccer odds raise a little on Under 2.5 goals then I’m willing to get involved. They’re at -154 right now and just a small improvement will make this bet worthwhile.

A few weeks ago the odds on another Leicester home win would be fairly attractive but under their new manager Craig Shakespeare they’ve recovered much of what made them good last season. Winning here would give them another Premier League record as their boss would be the first manager to win his first five games. There is nothing attractive in the match odds market but at -110 for Leicester -1 (Asian Handicap) there is at least a bet here.

Watford v West Brom seems nailed on to be a draw but the bookies have that locked down. No bet for me in this one as a result.

Both Teams To Score (Yes) is my choice for the Manchester United v Everton game and with decent attacks but weakened defenses, this looks good to come in for us. I’m happy with the -105.

Wednesday's games have about the same amount of bets in them and we get started with Arsenal v West Ham.

A loss for the away side will see them slip closer to the relegation zone and Arsenal really needs a morale-boosting win in front of their home fans right now. I’m expecting a solid Arsenal win so Arsenal -1.5 looks to be a good option.

Another game I’m expecting to see a home win is Hull v Middlesbrough. Both sides have changed manager this season and both could very well be heading back to the Championship. A win for Hull might give them a chance of avoiding that fate (+215 at William Hill) but Middlesbrough looks in all kinds of trouble.

Southampton v Crystal Palace should be quite a good game. Southampton has blown hot and cold this season but Palace are in form right now and their win against Chelsea was well deserved. You can get +386 on the away win for this one and that looks like a great betting pick.

I’m skipping the Swansea v Tottenham game because I think the away side have odds that are far too strong but at the same time, I can’t see any other result than an away win.

Chelsea vs. Man City is the tie of the round and this one could well end up a draw. You can get +211 on the draw and that might make you some money from a game neither side will want to lose.

Liverpool v Bournemouth is the last game of the round and another one for me to skip. Liverpool are strong favorites but they have this nasty habit of shooting themselves in the foot at unexpected moments. This match seems like a prime candidate but I’m not going to bet on it.
