With a brilliant 36 – 13 record in 2017, Caroline Wozniacki is going through a great moment in her career. In addition to her impressive numbers in recent months, the former world no.1 also ensured her return to the top 10 for the first time since September 2015. After reaching the Aegon International Eastbourne final last week, Wozniacki is looking for another successful run at the All England Club. Taking a look now at Caroline’s campaign in Wimbledon, the 26-year-old Dane reaches this stage of the competition after a 6 – 4 4 – 6 6 – 1 victory against Timea Babos.

Known as one of the best grass-court players on the WTA Tour, the 2010 Wimbledon semifinalist – Tsvetana Pironkova – is always a dangerous opponent on this surface. However, Pironkova only won 25.00% of the matches played on this event since 2014. Adding to this, the Bulgarian was also far from impressive on the 2017 grass-court season with a poor 4 – 3 record before this tournament. Despite her lack of success in recent years, Pironkova didn’t experience any problems on her debut in Wimbledon with an easy straight sets win over Sara Errani.

This will be the 6th career meeting between these two players with Wozniacki leading on the h2h by 5 – 0.

As the h2h suggests, Wozniacki is a terrible match-up for this opponent. Despite Tsvetana’s unquestionable quality on this surface, the 29-year-old Bulgarian can’t find the answer to Caroline’s solid baseline game. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to take advantage of Wozniacki’s tennis betting odds by placing a bet on the Dane’s spread as the most valuable play for this contest.

Sorana Cirstea vs. Bethanie Mattek-Sands (WC)

Playing on the big stages brings the best out of Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Known as one of the most unpredictable players on the WTA Tour, the fast court conditions on grass are perfect for Mattek-Sands’ game style. Despite losing the opening set against Magda Linette in the opening round, the 32-year-old American staged a remarkable comeback to book a place in Wimbledon’s second round. Taking a look now at Bethanie’s numbers on the previous round, the highlight goes to her serve with the former world no.30 winning 91.18% of the points with her first serve.

After struggling with several physical problems in recent years, Sorana Cirstea is slowly returning to her best level. Even though grass is far from Sorana’s favorite surface, the 27-year-old Romanian proved too strong for Kiki Bertens on the opening round. With this victory, Cirstea improved her career record at the All England Club to 9 wins and 10 defeats. Adding to this, Sorana also secured her return to the top 55 on the WTA Tour ranking.

These two players are no strangers with Cirstea winning all their previous three meetings. Nevertheless, this is their first ever encounter on grass.

Despite Sorana’s lead on the h2h, Mattek-Sands can never be underestimated on this surface. On the other hand, the American is also famous for playing her best tennis on the big stages. Having said that, our recommendation is for you to add Mattek-Sands to your betting picks to book a place in the following round.
