Round 2 has already served up upsets in Group A and B. What will it serve up when Group C gets underway today? Join us as we preview the day's World Cup betting card.

Switzerland -2000 vs. Ecuador +2500; Draw +1200
Switzerland's world finals debut got off on a disappointing loss. Then again they were only taking on the defending World Cup champions Japan, who were the soccer betting favourites at -200 to win outright. If there's one thing the Swiss can take heart from it is the way they held Japan off the scoreboard  for the entire 90 minutes. The goal the Japanese scored came through a penalty shot in the first half. The Swiss were resilient and tough to breakdown.

After giving Japan a run for their money , the Swiss are expected to pose a stern test for Ecuador. The South Americans suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat at the hands of Cameroon. In what was a scrappy affair, the Ecuadorians committed three fouls all of which Cameroon were only too happy to convert into goals. They were undisciplined and disorganised for the entire 90 minutes, making Cameroon's debut look so easy.

Predictably, Ecuador enters round 2 as the underdogs. But of all the underdogs trading on the World Cup Odds board, they sport the most ridiculous price tag. Matched at +2500 soccer odds to win outright, odds makers are writing them off in no uncertain terms. The Swiss are disciplined, focused and motivated. This is a game for the Swiss to win hands down, but at -2000 soccer odds there's little value in money line betting. Take the Swiss on the Asian handicap result on your soccer picks.

Japan -300 vs. Cameroon+700
Joint group C leaders Japan and Cameroon are set to battle it out on Friday with top spot on the line. Defending champions Japan are correctly the favourites to win outright at -300 soccer odds. They are after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Switzerland, responding to the pressure placed on them as the defending champions beautifully with the winning start.

The West Africans aren't going to be pushovers though. After getting their world finals debut off to a spectacular 6-0 start, they might actually believe they could shake things down in Group C. Certainly, they are very much in the running for a spot in the knockouts and they'll be keen to make a fist of this game. They shouldn't be priced so long on the World Cup odds board for the win at +700 soccer odds. Favourites Canada and Germany slipped up in Thursday's round of World Cup betting as both sides succumbed to draws in their respective games, proving just how competitive and deep this event is and how improved women's football is. These soccer betting odds can't be taken for granted. That said we do fancy Japan to win a narrow game.

Soccer Picks: Japan -300
