Join us and find out our two top selections for the ATP Toronto & WTA Montreal Quarter-Finals. We'll provide an analysis, explaining why you should grab these two valuable tennis picks.

Grigor Dimitrov vs. Kei Nishikori (3)
After starting the year at a terrific level, the last months haven’t been easy for Kei Nishikori with the Japanese struggling with a rib injury that forced him to withdraw from Halle and Wimbledon. Despite those recent problems, Nishikori is already on this event’s quarterfinals for the second time on his career. After a slow start against Dennis Novikov, Nishikori played at a much better level against Rajeev Ram, dismissing the American by 6 – 3 6 – 4 and ending the match with outstanding stats – 28 winners and only 7 unforced errors.

The last months haven’t been easy for Grigor Dimitrov with several early losses yet, the Bulgarian is slowly returning to his best level. After being close from elimination on the opening match against Yuichi Sugita, Dimitrov clearly raised his level with two good victories over Denis Shapovalov and Ivo Karlovic. Looking to Grigor’s numbers against Karlovic, the highlight clearly goes to his consistency, with the Bulgarian ending the match with 33 winners and 5 unforced errors.

These two players will face each other for the third time on their careers with Nishikori leading on h2h by 2 – 0.

Despite Nishikori’s lead on h2h, things shouldn’t be easy for the Japanese against a player who is clearly raising his level match after match. Adding to this, we still have some doubts that Nishikori is fully recovered from those physical issues and for that reason, we expect Dimitrov to cause some problems to the main favorite. Having said that, our recommendation for this match is for you to take advantage of Dimitrov’s tennis odds by placing a bet on the Over.

Svetlana Kuznetsova (9) vs. Simona Halep (5)

It has been a great week for Simona Halep, with the 2015 runner-up reaching the quarterfinals after two brilliant performances against Daria Gavrilova and Karolina Pliskova. The slower conditions in Montreal clearly suit Halep’s game style, with the Romanian creating many problems to her opponents with her outstanding groundstrokes. We picked Halep in our tournament preview as the main favorite to win the title and after Garbine Muguruza’s retirement, she’s clearly the main contender to leave Montreal with the trophy. After her quarterfinals victory over Pliskova, Simona said that she was extremely pleased with her game level and baseline movement.

Svetlana Kuznetsova is for the fifth time on her career on this event’s quarterfinals after defeating the 2012 champion, Petra Kvitova. It has been a great year for Kuznetsova with the Russian just one place away from returning to the top 10, something that doesn’t happen since 2010. As we mentioned before, the courts in Montreal are quite slow which clearly benefits Svetlana’s defensive skills. The Russian was just too solid for Kvitova, breaking her opponent five times and winning 47.46% of the points played on the Czech’s serve.

This will be the 7th career meeting between these two players with each player winning three matches so far.

Both players seem to enjoy the conditions in Montreal and we should witness some outstanding rallies on this match. However, Simona seems to be playing at a higher level and for that reason, our suggestion is for you to add the Romanian’s spread to your tennis picks as the highest value play on this match.
