Premier League enters match day 16 this weekend and we bring you a comprehensive serving of the soccer odds board, casting our eye on several games of the week to spot on your soccer picks.

Match Day 15 Recap
Leicester City preside over the Premier League table. How’s that for an opening line? True story. At the conclusion of match day 15, Leicester City took all three points at the expense of Swansea City on the road behind a convincing 3-0 win to climb to the top of the table. At the same time, Manchester City and Manchester United stumbled in their respective matchups: City lost to Stoke 0-2 on the road while United settled on a scoreless draw to West Ham United. Incidentally, we cast our eye on all three games last week in our weekend plays article and got each and every one of our soccer picks right.

Elsewhere in the league, Chelsea succumbed to their eighth loss of the season when promoted AFC Bournemouth clinched the 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Newcastle United served up an upset win over Liverpool, winning 2-0 at St. James Park. Finally, Arsenal clichéd their ninth win of the season with a 3-1 win over relegation threatened Sunderland. The Gunners improve to second place in the league behind that win and are two points behind Leicester City and a point ahead of the pair of Manchester sides.

In Table 1, we look at the coming weekend’s serving alongside soccer odds currently trading at bet365. Below we cast our eye on the games of the week to spot on your soccer picks.

Manchester City vs. Swansea City
Manchester City missed an opportunity last week to remain ahead of the title chasing pack when they lost to Stoke City on the road. One has to consider Champions League commitments at the weekend were of the upmost priority then and in all likelihood had an impact on their effort at the Potteries. Fortunately, the Citizens delivered with commanding 4-2 win over Borussia M’gladbach and given that Juventus succumbed to a loss to Sevilla the Citizens capped their Champions League group account by winning group D. Summarily buoyed by what was a very successful Champions League campaign, Manuel Pellegrini’s side should be focused for the coming weekend as they attempt to reclaim their lofty perch in the league.

Swansea City won’t make it easy for the Sky Blues though. They did manage a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and they have pacey players with flair that could give Man City some trouble. Plus, they’ll be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to current league-leading Leicester City on match day 15.  That said the Swans have struggled to strike an audible chord on their travels. To date, they’ve only beaten Aston Villa and forced draws on Sunderland and Chelsea on the road.

By all accounts, this is a game that Man City should win comfortably as the soccer odds indicate and we’re backing them on our soccer picks at -333 to do the job. Yet, games aren’t played on paper but on the field. Call it a hunch, a niggling feeling, but there’s a potential for a let-down by the Citizens now that the pressures of Champions League are removed for the time being. As such, we won’t be surprised if the Swans capitalise by forcing a draw at the very least, which can be backed at tempting +450 Premier League odds.

Soccer Picks: Manchester City -333

Aston Villa vs. Arsenal
Arsene Wenger and the Gunners pulled off the improbable in Champions League this weekend as they squeaked through to the knockouts behind a 3-0 win over Olympiakos in the last round of group play. Although the soccer odds were in favour of Arsenal, few truly believed they’d actually pull it off. The Greek side had the advantage in the table as well as home advantage, making the assignment for the Gunners tough indeed. Tale told, they did it. Following such a momentous accomplishment, one has to wonder how jazzed up they’re going to be for the weekend’s clash with Aston Villa. Trekking back from Greece only to hit the road again to the Midlands is a lot of travelling to go alongside the emotional high they must be on right now. That raises the possibility of a let-down spot here as well. Normally, that would be enough to consider a wager against the favourites. Seeing as it involves Villa, a side that is wholly off form and colour this season with a paltry 1-3-11 mark, one gets the impression Arsene Wenger could get away with fielding a second-tier side and still get the pivotal W.

Of course, Wenger isn’t likely to field a completely watered down side when Arsenal are sat just two points behind Leicester City at the top of the table. A potential win at Villa Park could see the Gunners keep pace at the top of the table, not to mention assume outright control if Jose Mourinho and the Blues generously do them the favour of defeating the Foxes…(although this pair helping each other out would be akin to pronouncing anathema upon themselves).

In any event, Arsenal should win this game but with all the comings and goings this week there’s a small chance they could stumble behind a draw on the away. Aston Villa managed to hold Man City to a scoreless draw a couple of weeks back, just as City were trekking back from a Champions League date with Sevilla.

Soccer Picks: Arsenal to win at -182 or draw at +320

Leicester City vs. Chelsea
Nobody would have thought to circle this game at the start of the season when the schedule was released as the game of the week. Yet, here we are and it’s definitely one to spot. Leicester City is looking to affirm their spot atop the table and what would be more fitting than doing it at the expense of the defending champions Chelsea.

The Blues were dealt another blow on the season when AFC Bournemouth traipsed out of Stamford Bridge with all three points after a 1-0 win. As bad as Chelsea have been this season, that was a game most thought they could win even with their conspicuous struggles. Tale told, they crashed to their eighth loss of the season, perpetuating their bottom-half of the table sojourn for yet another week. On a brighter note, Chelsea advanced into the knockouts of the Champions League with a convincing 2-0 win over FC Porto on Wednesday, thereby assuaging some of their beleaguered fans.

A trip to Leicester City though looms ominously on the horizon given how well the Foxes have accounted this season. This is the spot though many soccer betting experts are predicting Leicester City begins its nosedive in the table. Arguing that their run so far has been down to facing lesser opposition. That sentiment is echoed on the soccer odds board that tips Chelsea as the road faves at +125 and Leicester as the home underdogs at +220 soccer odds.

This isn’t the first time soccer experts and analysts predict the Foxes will finally stub their toes. Nor is it the first time they are snubbed by odds makers. Despite it all, they continue to punch above their weight class. Isn’t it therefore time to give the Foxes the respect that they are clearly due? So far, they only lost to Arsenal at home. More recently, they held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at King Power Stadium. The bookies may prove to be right when all is said and done. Insofar as the season has panned out, we can’t help but appreciate what these plucky underdogs have accomplished thus far. So we’re backing them on our soccer picks. We like the outright win at +220 soccer odds, but cooler heads might fancy the double result Leicester to win or draw at -150 soccer odds at bet365.

Soccer Picks: Leicester to win +220 or Leicester to win or draw at -150
