Paris Saint-Germain vs. Chelsea
English Premier League champions Chelsea head to France on Tuesday to face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in Paris in Leg 1 of their Round of 16 UEFA Champions League series. Soccer odds makers here have made hosts PSG solid -142 favorites over visitors Chelsea (+475) (Sportingbet) in the Three-Way (Winner) marketplace with the Draw is priced at +280. The Total Goals in this game can be found at 2½ with the Over priced at +110 and the Under at -138 (Marathon) while the Both Teams To Score Prop odds in this second leg sees the “Yes” at -110 and the “No” at -150 (bet365). The Draw No Bet odds sees host and defending Ligue 1 champions PSG priced at -400 and Chelsea at +275 (bet365) while the To Qualify (Advance to Next Round) odds see Paris Saint-Germain at -175 and slight series underdog Chelsea priced at +137 (bet365). A good Prop possibly for this game: Correct Score: PSG 1-0 +509 (Marathon), 0-0 at 7/1 and Chelsea 1-0 at 25/1 (at Bet365).

Chelsea FC
Despite the milktoast Record and current standing in the bottom half of the EPL table, Chelsea (8-9-9 in English Premier League, 12th place, 38 F-36 GA) has been playing some good football (soccer) under new interim Coach Guus Hiddink who replaced former Blues José Mourinho in-between the Group Stage and the start of this (Round of 16) Knockout Stage where they find themselves up against a growingly familiar foe in Paris Saint-Germain. But Diego Costa (10 goals in EPL) and Chelsea come into this game a bit hobbled with captain and CB John Terry (Ankle) injured and listed as Doubtful, CB Kurt Zouma (Knee) now Out for the Season and MF Ramires (Unspecified) and Striker Radamel Falcao (Unspecified) both unlikely to feature. So remaining natural CBs Gary Cahill, Baba Rahman and possibly the just recently called up Jake Clarke-Salter and 20-year-old American Matt Miazga who played for the New York Red Bull in the MLS may play on the world’s biggest stage. Nothing like being thrown into the fire and should either of these kids get many minutes at Center Back with PSG nightmare Striker Ibrahimovic (6-3, 183) roaming the box (and collecting skulls for his killer Skull Collection) they will truly be tested. Although there may not be a large number of quality shots on target over this 90+ minutes, Chelsea GK Thibaut Courtois will probably be worked and called upon the keep the Blues in the match and if need be, Branislav Ivanovic can move over to CB.
On the attack, Chelsea (25/1 to win UEFA Champions League, bet365) will look for striker Costa (11 goals) to stay hot and hope playmakers Eden Hazard (+550 Anytime Goalscorer, Betway) and Willian (+700 Anytime Goalscorer, 888sport) can make something happen against PSG’s top-shelf Defense. Blues players like Oscar (+600 Anytime Goalscorer, 888sport), Pedro (+650 Anytime Goalscorer, 888sport), Cesc Fàbregas, Nemanja Matic, Ivanovic and César Azpilicueta will also have to step up in this opening Leg 1 and Old Boy Hiddink may even start Lucky Charm and DMF John Obi-Mikel who has a 25-match unbeaten streak playing for the 69-year-old Dutchman. In their last league game on Saturday, the Blues blasted Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, 5-1, but Terry was hurt in the victory and this lightness now at CB with Terry and Zouma is a weakness so expect the red-hot Ligue 1 hosts to try and exploit this with much designed attacking play up the middle.

Paris Saint-Germain FC
Paris Saint-Germain (22-4-0 in Ligue 1, 63 GF-12 GA, +51 GD) seems to get a little bit better every year and this may be the year that Les Rouge-et-Bleu Manager Laurent Blanc and the French giants shock the world and win the UEFA Champions League (14/1 to win UEFA Champions League, Betway). On Sunday, PSG suspended D Serge Aurier for reportedly making unsavory comments about some teammates and his 50-year-old Manager Blanc on the Social Media platform Periscope, while Les Parisiens (UEFA Champions League Form Guide PSG: WWDLLW) are also hurting with Javier Pastore (Ankle) and Marco Verratti (Ankle) both Listed as Doubtful for this match on the UEFA website. Still, PSG is unbeaten in league play and is in really good Form, having W16 straight matches in all competitions before drawing (0-0) with Lille in league play on Saturday. Besides big stud Zlatan Ibrahimovic (21 goals in Ligue 1), the hosts will look to Edinson Cavani (11 goals), playmaker Ángel Di María (9 goals, 8 assists in Ligue 1) and Lucas Moura (5 goals) for Offense while D’s Maxwell (1 goal), Marquinhos, David Luiz, Layvin Kurzawa (3 goals) and and team heartbeat Thiago Silva will try to hold down the Defense and Chelsea in front of GK Kevin Trapp. It’s obvious that Ibrahimovic (+120 Anytime Goalscorer, William Hill) and Cavani (+147 Anytime Goalscorer, 888sport) will be the two main scorers the Blues will have to concentrate on but players like Jean-Kevin Augustin (+300, Bwin), Congolese Striker Hervin Ongenda (+333 Anytime Goalscorer, bet365) and Ezequiel Lavezzi (+370 Anytime Goalscorer, 888sport) can also provide goals for PSG when on the pitch.

Best Betting Approaches, Lifetime Series Record and Recent Relevant Trends
These two historic European clubs will be meeting for the third straight time in this tournament’s Knockout stages with Chelsea winning in 2014 and Paris Saint-Germain advancing from this Round of 16 last year against the Blues on Away goals. Lifetime against PSG, Chelsea is 2-3-1 (9 GF-6 GA) overall and 1-1-1 (5 GF-4 GA) at the Parc-des-Princes, all in UEFA Champions League play. The only other meeting before the L3 also came in the Champions League (2004/05) where the Blues advanced from the Group Stage with the help of a 0-0 Draw at Stamford Bridge and a 3-0 win here in the City of Lights. here, young Brazilians Willian (5 goals in Champions League) and Oscar (2 goals in UEFA Champions League) will need to find seams and take their chances for Chelsea UEFA CL Form Guide (WLDWWW) in order for the Blues to pull off the upset on Tuesday in Paris, but the Blues will have to get some Luck as its only win on French soil in 7 tries in European play was against PSG here in Paris (2004). The Blues have L4 games against Ligue 1 foes overall with all of those Losses coming away from West London and Chelsea is unbeaten in 12 matches since Hiddink came to SW6. But winning here will be extremely hard as Les Rouge-et-Bleu has just one Loss—against Lionel Messi and Barcelona (3-1) in Leg 1 of last season’s Quarterfinal Round here at Home in Paris—in their L37 games in European competitions (24-12-0) since a setback to Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC in the group stage of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup. PSG is 3-5-4 lifetime in 11 matches against English sides (Home 2-2-1) and with this being Leg 1, Chelsea thin a Centre-Back and the match in Paris, backing PSG to finally hand Hiddink a Loss here in a low-scoring (and potentially) boring affair is the handicapping call, along with the Under 2½ (-138, Marathon) as our sharp soccer picks.
