Join us and find out our two top betting selections for Australian Open Day 3. We’ll provide a detailed analysis, explaining why you should grab these two valuable tennis picks.

Daria Gavrilova vs. Petra Kvitova (6)
It was a good start for Petra Kvitova, with the two-time Wimbledon champion dismissing Luksika Kumkhum by 6 – 3 6 – 1. Petra ended that match with great numbers, winning 72.5% points on serve and 8/8 at the net. Despite struggling in the past weeks with a stomach virus, Kvitova showed up at very good level; however, it's important to mention that Luksika is far from a tough opponent.

The former junior world no.1, Daria Gavrilova, will be looking for her first 3rd round appearance on a Grand Slam event. Daria is a terrific competitor, with her defensive skills and baseline movement as her best qualities. Gavrilova loves to play against the best in the world, with a couple of victories against top 10 players like Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic and Lucie Safarova. Gavrilova showed all her mental strength against Lucie Hradecka, saving all 10 break points she faced.

They played last year at Wuhan, where Petra emerged victorious by 6 – 3 4 – 6 7 – 5.

Kvitova always struggled with the hot conditions in Melbourne and it will be very tough for her to handle such a good competitor as Gavrilova. The conditions won’t be so warm on Wednesday, with 27ºC, but it’s still going to be very hard for Petra. This should be a very close contest, with Petra struggling to find a way to overcome Daria’s outstanding defensive skills. The value is clearly on Gavrilova and for that reason, we advise adding to your tennis picks the value on Over.

Dusan Lajovic vs. Roberto Bautista Agut (24)
After winning the ATP Auckland title, Roberto Bautista Agut had a tough debut at the Australian Open against Martin Klizan. The Spaniard struggled to close the match after leading by 2 sets to love, needing a fifth set to seal the deal. Agut’s performance on pressure points was one of the reasons for his difficulties to close the match, converting only 7 of 28 break points during the match.

Due to Sam Querrey’s retirement, Dusan Lajovic booked a place on the second round. Lajovic is a solid baseline player, with clay as his favorite surface; however, the Serbian can’t do much with his groundstrokes on Hard Courts. Adding to this, Dusan is known for being mentally fragile, with a poor 9 – 35 record against top 50 opponents (two of those 9 wins were due to retirement).

They played twice in 2012 on Challenger Tour, with Agut crushing the Serbian by 6 – 2 6 – 1 and 6 – 3 6 – 1-

After needing five sets on previous round, Agut will be looking for an easier victory this time. The match-up is very good for the Spaniard and there isn’t much Lajovic can do from the baseline. Dusan’s one-handed backhand is his weakest groundstroke and Roberto should use his inside out forehand to explore that shot. With this in mind, our suggestion for this match is to make a split between Agut’s spread tennis odds and his set handicap.
