Join us and find out our two top betting selections for the ATP & WTA Miami Day 2. We'll provide a detailed analysis, explaining why you should grab these two valuable tennis picks.

Juan Martin Del Potro vs Guido Pella
The 2009 Miami semifinalist, Juan Martin Del Potro, doesn’t have the best memories from his last appearance on this event. Del Potro’s last match before almost one year away from tour was played in Miami last year, with the Argentinean losing on the first round against Vasek Pospisil. However, this year things are different and Juan Martin is raising his level week after week, with good performances in Delray Beach and Indian Wells, yet the 2009 US Open champion keeps experiencing difficulties with his backhand.

Guido Pella is currently on his best career ranking, after reaching ATP Rio’s final earlier this year. Guido also made a very good performance in Indian Wells, reaching the third round where he only lost in three sets to David Goffin. Pella is a fearful competitor and doesn’t give anything for free to his opponents, with his counter punching skills and left-handed forehand as his biggest weapons. Despite not having a massive serve, Pella can also protect very well his service games.

These two Argentinean players will face each other for the first time on their career.

It should be a very interesting contest, with Del Potro facing his second left-handed player since his return to competition. The first he faced was John-Patrick Smith in Delray Beach and it was far from an easy match for Del Potro. Pella’s approach to this game is quite simple, always serve to Del Potro’s backhand and try to control the points with his crossed forehand. Pella seems to be underrated, with Del Potro’s tennis odds too low for this match. Guido is always a tough opponent to beat and for that reason, we recommend you to place a wager on the Over for this match.

Catherine Bellis (WC) vs. Monica Puig
Despite being only 16 years old, Catherine Bellis is already pointed as one of the most promising American players. For the second consecutive year, Bellis receives a Wild Card to play this event and she’ll be looking for another good performance after reaching the third round last year. Bellis loves to play at the big stages, with big wins already on her career over top 50 players such as Dominika Cibulkova and Zarina Diyas. This will be Catherine’s first WTA event this year, after competing on some ITF events.

Monica Puig had an outstanding start of season, reaching WTA Sydney’s final; however, she’s known for her inconsistency and hasn’t been able to keep the same level. Monica is a very aggressive baseline player, always trying to hit winners and overpower their opponents, but that game style also leads to a high number of unforced errors. This will be Puig’s fourth appearance on WTA Miami’s main draw, with her best result achieved in 2014 when she reached the 2nd round.

This will be the first career meeting between two young talented players.

Puig has to be considered the favorite for this match, not only she’s much better ranked – 67th vs. 219th – but she’s also more experienced on WTA events, yet the young American already proved her value on big stages and she should give a good fight on this contest. This match is scheduled for the Stadium (main court on this event) and Bellis should count with a tremendous support from the crowd. With nothing to lose and with such a strong support, is hard not to find value on the promising Bellis and for that reason, we suggest adding her set handicap to your tennis picks.
