ATP St. Petersburg
The St. Petersburg Open takes place in St. Petersburg and will be played on Indoor Hard Court
Tomas Berdych had an outstanding start of season however hasn’t been able to keep that level in recent months with too many unforced errors on his matches. Berdych has been a top player for several years but only has 10 career titles because he doesn’t take lower level tournaments very serious where he has good chances to collect titles.
Despite being 1st seed and favorite at 2.62 at Bet365, there isn’t any value on Tomas, not only due to his poor performances lately but also for the lack of effort he has showed in this lower events during his career.
Milos Raonic has struggled with physical problems in recent months and after a foot surgery the Canadian was clearly suffering with back pain at US Open.
Raonic serve makes him always a tough player to face however with the recent physical problems his baseline game has been too inconsistent and also he hasn’t been able to serve consistently above the 60% and without his serve he’s very vulnerable. With Milos far from his best and struggling with his first serve % betting on him is not a good investment at tennis odds of 5.00 on Bet365 so we’ll avoid it.
Player to Keep an Eye On
Roberto Bautista Agut is a very solid baseline player, good counter puncher skills and the fast Indoor conditions are good for his high pace game.
Agut has already been training on Indoor with Spanish team for Davis Cup and for sure was a good preparation for this event. He’s 4th seed and doesn’t have to play first round which will give him enough time to get to St. Petersburg and adjust to the conditions. Roberto is always a dangerous player on Indoor and has a good draw to go deep so we suggest to add him to our tennis picks at 10.00 on Bet365.
