Dustin Brown (q) vs. Ruben Bemelmans
With one of his best career performances, the qualifier Dustin Brown surprised the 3rd seed Gilles Simon by 6 – 4 6 – 4. Known as one of the most eccentric players on tour, Brown is able to produce an outstanding level of tennis, but also struggles to perform at a consistent level. Dustin ended the match against Simon with outstanding numbers: firing 10 aces, 40 winners / 28 unforced errors, won 19/26 points at the net and saved the two break points he faced.

Ruben Bemelmans reaches the quarterfinals of an ATP event for the second time on his career, after losing on that stage at ATP Vienna in 2013. Ruben loves to play on Indoor Hard Court, where his left-handed serve is extremely effective. Bemelmans has been serving at a remarkable level this week, placing 69.8% first serve and winning 90.0% of his service games. Despite being priced as underdog in the two previous matches, Bemelmans emerged victorious in two close matches against João Sousa and Jan-Lennard Struff.

This will be the 5th career meeting between this pair, with each player winning two matches so far.

This will be a very interesting match, with both players looking for their first ATP semifinals appearance. As we mentioned, Bemelmans is for the second time on this stage of an ATP event, while Brown lost all his previous 7 appearances on ATP quarterfinals. Brown is priced as slightly favorite, however it won’t be easy for him to keep the same level after such an inspired performance against Simon. The previous matches between them were extremely close, with a third set required to decide three of the four previous encounters. With this in mind, we suggest to add the Over tennis odds to your tennis picks, expecting a very close contest with at least one tie break and three sets.
