Join us in our two top betting selections for the ATP Barcelona & WTA Stuttgart Quarterfinals. We'll provide a detailed analysis, explaining why you should grab these two valuable tennis picks.

Alexandr Dolgopolov (11) vs Kei Nishikori (2)
The two-time Barcelona Open winner and defending champion, Kei Nishikori, reaches this stage of the competition after two straight sets victories over Thiemo de Bakker and Jeremy Chardy. In our tournament preview, we picked Nishikori along with Rafael Nadal as the two players to bet on, since we expect both of them to reach the final. Despite facing a player with a big serve like Chardy who served at great level with 74% first serve in, Nishikori broke his opponent 4 times.

After losing on his debut in all his previous four appearances at the ATP Barcelona, Alexandr Dolgopolov is for the first time on the quarterfinals of this event. However, it hasn’t been an easy week for Alexandr with the Ukrainian very close from elimination on his first match against Evgeny Donskoy, where he recovered from a set down and a 1-5 disadvantage on the 2nd set tie break. On the following match Dolgopolov defeated another Russian, the qualifier Karen Khachanov by 6 – 4 7 – 5.

These two players will face each other for the fifth time on their careers, with Nishikori winning all the matches in straight sets.

Alexandr is a very talented player with tricky slices however, this is a terrible match-up for him. Their last meeting took place in Miami a few weeks ago, where Nishikori won easily by 6 – 2 6 – 2. The Japanese is the main favorite for this contest and once again, he shouldn’t experience much problems to defeat Dolgopolov. Having said that, we advise you to take advantage of Nishikori’s tennis odds by placing a bet on his spread.

Petra Kvitova (5) vs Garbine Muguruza (3)
In our tournament analysis, we picked Garbine Muguruza as one of the main favorites to grab the title and the Spaniard started her campaign with an impressive performance, dismissing Timea Babos by 6 – 2 6 – 2. The fast conditions suit Garbine’s powerful game style, with Muguruza playing extremely aggressive and winning 57% of the points played on return. After a slow start of season, Muguruza is finally playing her best tennis and the next months should be very good for her.

After a perfect start of competition, where Petra Kvitova double baggeled Louisa Chirico (which means winning by 6 – 0 6 – 0), the Czech had to fight very hard on her contest against Monica Niculescu – Petra recovered from a set down and a break down on the 2nd set, saving three match points before emerging victorious by 2 – 6 7 – 6 6 – 2. It was far from a solid performance from Petra but it’s never easy to face such a tricky player as Niculescu; however, the Czech found a way to reach the quarterfinals with 57 winners / 51 unforced errors throughout the match.

This will be the second career meeting between these two players, with the previous one taking place in Singapore last year where Muguruza won by 6 – 4 4 – 6 7 – 5.

It should be a very interesting contest between two of the most powerful players on tour, with both looking to take control of the points with their powerful groundstrokes. If this was played on Indoor Hard Court Petra’s chances would be higher but on clay, the edge is on Muguruza’s side. Despite some previous success on this surface – like last year in Madrid where she won the title – Kvitova is not so reliable on clay and Garbine should take advantage of her opponent weaker baseline movement. With this in mind, we suggest adding the Spaniard’s spread to your tennis picks on this match.
