It may not be a title deciding sixpointer but Sunday’s Arsenal versus Manchester City should definitely be the game of the weekend for our soccer betting fun.

EPL Arsenal vs. Manchester City

As things stand at present Manchester City, the defending champions, are seven points and four goals worse off than their cross city (quiet) neighbours and Roberto Mancini's boys are 10/3 with Ladbrokes, to retain the title. However four places further down the table in 6th place, but with that all-important game in hand, are Arsenal, on 34 points. While an 11 point difference is hardly anything for City to worry about they should be concerned about dropping any further behind Manchester United (favourites to win the EPL this season at 1/3).

Enough with the title odds…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

Despite their thrilling 7-3 victory over Newcastle United not too long ago, Arsenal have problems of their own, they have two teams, West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool within three points of them further down the table and they have three non-Manchester sides ahead of them in the league.

This means that Arsenal, even if they were to win their game in hand couldn't climb as any higher than fifth. An Arsenal side under Arsene Wenger who wouldn't be playing champions league football is something that will send a lot of North London heads a-scratching. The bookies have the Gunners at 10/11 for a top four finish this term (that’s fourth favourite behind the Manchesters and Chelsea).

What does this all mean?

A long story short, this is a big game for both sides and a big game for Mrs. Richardson and the shoe fund because she needs something new for 2013. Possibly from LK Bennett, although other shoe shops or available. So, I need to get it right with my Premier League tips with this one!

The Gunners are on a decent tear at present if you discount the 2-0 reverse against Swansea and losing to Bradford on penalties in the cup.

Manchester City have lost just two of their last 10 games, but they hardly look like champions. In fact the bookies now have Manchester United's noisy neighbours at 3/1 to win the league, while Arsenal are 100/1 betting odds.

The last time these sides met back in September (this season) at the Etihad, the game ended honours even. That was possibly a score-line more beneficial to Arsenal than to Manchester City, as it would have been seen as two points dropped in the race for the title as Manchester United would consider a home game against Arsenal as pretty much a guaranteed three pointer.

A repeat of that 1-1 scoreline is available at 7/1 with Victor Chandler, while any draw is available at 5/2 with bet365.

You might want to back the game ending 1-0 as last season all three meetings between these two sides ended by that score. 1-0 to Arsenal is available at 9/1 while 1-0 to Manchester City is available at 11/1.

There's one more reason why you might want to back the game ending 1-0 to Arsenal, as that was the store the last time this fixture was played although for 87 minutes the game remained tied.

You might also like to note that the last time that's Manchester City beat Arsenal at Arsenal (in the league) was way back in October 1975.

you should know that Arsenal have won five of their home games and have only been defeated at the Emirates twice all season. They've scored 25 home goals and let in just 13 that all seems very impressive until you look at Manchester City’s away form…then it looks really impressive! Manchester City have only won five of their away games all season, drawing four and losing one. Common sense says that you should back a draw. However a Arsenal win is at 8/5 and a City win is at 9/4.

Don't go for a particularly high scoring draw as city have only scored 16 times away from home and let in just 10.

I'm going to let the Manchester managers worry about winning the league and the London managers of Arsenal Chelsea and Tottenham worry about qualifying for Europe in this game and to buy Mrs Richardson, at least an instep of a shoe I'm backing just that, a low scoring draw.
