These two teams just met last week and the Montreal Alouettes surprised the Saskatchewan Roughriders with a 37-13 beatdown.  Will the Als be able to surprise the Riders again now that they travel to Saskatchewan? Keep reading to find out in our Alouettes-Roughriders CFL Week 4 picks.

The Alouettes snagged their first win of the 2022 season last week against the Roughriders in Montreal. These two teams will now play again with the Roughriders having the home-field advantage. Roughriders QB Cody Fajardo looked lost for the first time this year and was eventually benched for backup Mason Fine after going 17-for-28 with two picks. All eyes will be on Fajardo to see if he can turn it around in Week 4.

Alouettes vs. Roughriders ML Pick

Roughriders (-200)

When these two teams played last week the Alouettes dominated the Roughriders, with a 37-13 win. Fajardo threw two interceptions and zero touchdowns with 191 yards before being replaced by Fine, who proceeded to go 7-for-9 for 83 yards with a touchdown and a pick. Meanwhile, Alouettes QB Trevor Harris threw for 262 yards and a touchdown without a pick.

The Roughriders were the better team coming into last week’s contest at 2-0 while the Alouettes were 0-2. Even though the Als got their first win last week, I think Fajardo and company bounce back to win this rematch outright and extend their record to 3-1.

Alouettes vs. Roughriders ATS Pick

Alouettes +4.5 (-110)

Even though the Roughriders should win this game I think the confidence the Alouettes were able to build last week will help them keep it close. Last week the Roughriders had one more passing yard than the Als and only six fewer rushing yards. The biggest issue was turnovers, where the Alouettes were able to intercept the ball three times and had eight sacks.

The Roughriders will be ready to better protect Fajardo at home and he'll better protect the ball, however, the game should remain close. Still finding their groove after losing starting running back William Stanback, the Als will rely on Jeshrun Antwi to help control the clock. Antwi is averaging 57.33 yards per game on 6.9 yards per attempt.

Alouettes vs. Roughriders O/U Pick

Over 45.5 (-115)

These two teams just played last week and combined for 50 points. While the outcome this week should favor the Roughriders, they’re going to have to put up some points to win. The Alouettes had their number, both on offense and defense in Week 3.

The Roughriders will make some corrections, but it will still be a close back-and-forth game with points being scored by each side.
