Stan Wawrinka (1) vs Benoit Paire
Is hard to believe that Benoit Paire started the year outside top 100 and had to play Future and Challenger events so he could raise his ranking. Paire is a tremendously talented player and has been producing some outstanding tennis last months.

There are two main reasons for Paire’s inability to perform at a consistent level: 1) he’s mentally very unstable; 2) chronic knee problems.

When Benoit is fit and mentally focused he’s extremely dangerous and showed that during semifinals by defeating the 2nd seed Kei Nishikori, our favorite for the title. Paire ended that match with stunning numbers firing 30 winners and 13 unforced errors. The French is known for his brilliant backhand but his forehand has also been quite solid and against Nishikori he even ended with more winners from the forehand side.

Stan Wawrinka reaches 4th final in 2015 after a very solid performance against Gilles Muller. The Suisse has been perfect in finals since 2014, with a 6 – 0 record in decisive matches.

Stan produced some high level tennis against Muller, ending the match with 31 winners / 13 unforced errors. The Suisse lost twice the break lead on second set but that didn’t stop him from getting the job done in straight sets.

It’s never easy to face a player who is a good friend off the court but this is an ATP 500 final and both will fight hard for the title. Wawrinka leads h2h 4 – 1 and is priced as moderate favorite for this final.

Wawrinka has showed in past two years that when he’s up for the task and reaches final, he doesn’t fail. Stan won six finals in last two years, winning two Grand Slams and defeating all top players such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer.

Stan should be able once again to lift the trophy and we’ll add to our tennis picks the value on Wawrinka’s spread tennis odds.

Tennis Pick: Stan Wawrinka -3.5 (-105) at Pinnacle
