Week 24 of Barclay's Premier League is set to get underway and in this column we look at the clash between bottom dwellers Leicester City and the surging Crystal Palace. Find out what soccer odds are currently trading and where we feel the value soccer picks are to be had.

Leicester City Relegation Faves
As proprietors of bottom place in the Premier League table, Leicester City are one of the top faves to be relegated by season end at -150. Curiously, QPR and Burnley lead the relegation queue on the soccer odds board (both at -188). Should Leicester City fans take heart from this outlook that stands in contrast to the current landscape in England's top flight?

Perhaps, yes. Since the New Year, there has been a perceptible shift in Leicester City with the Foxes finally getting off the mark in Premier League and FA Cup action. Naturally, with Premier League survival hanging in the balance, manager Nigel Pearson would happily trade some of the FA Cup success for precious Premier League points. Still, it could work in his favor and prove to be the catalyst for a season-saving run down the stretch.

After a mostly forgettable first half of the season, punctuated by two points across the span of the last 13 games leading up to Christmas, the Foxes, out of nowhere, defeated Hull City on December 28. Snapping the negative trend with a shocking 1-0 win over Hull City on the road, the Foxes were propelled to an eyebrow raising 2-2 draw at Anfield Stadium on January 1 and, then, on to a 1-0 win over Newcastle United (FA Cup) and 1-0 win over Aston Villa (Prem), their best run of form since the season got underway.

Since that rare burst of good fortune, however, the Foxes have split form between Prem and FA Cup, losing their ensuing two top-flight fixtures (1-0 loss at Stoke and 3-1 loss at Man U) but winning their FA Cup clash with Tottenham 2-1 on the road. It remains to be seen whether they can bounce back against Crystal Palace this weekend, who have a new lease on life with Alan Pardew at the helm.

Crystal Palace Have Momentum
Since Alan Pardew's takeover of Crystal Palace, the Eagles are soaring steadily. They are 4-1-1 in their last six games across all competitions, with wins over Dover Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley and Southampton. Most recently, they are after a 1-0 loss to Everton at home. A game that many expected them to win.

In spite of the loss to Everton (struggling by last season's lofty standards), there is a sense of momentum with Crystal Palace. What's more, Alan Pardew was one of the busiest managers in the midseason transfer window, picking up some interesting prospects such as Yaya Sanogo, Shola Ameobi and Jordan Mutch, amongst several others. But getting back on the winning track is going to be imperative this weekend. Overall, they are 5-8-10 on the season with 23 points and in 13th place. They are only three-points clear of the drop line. In other words, they are in no way safe, and they have to bounce back from the costly loss to Everton this weekend if they hope to put some distance between them and the relegation motley crew. After their date with Leicester, a tough pocket in the schedule looms with dates at home to Newcastle United, Liverpool (FA Cup) and Arsenal.

Leicester City vs. Crystal Palace Betting Odds and Tips
Although these two outfits are enjoying contrasting seasons, both have shown upside since the New Year and both are coming off a loss in the last round of Premier League betting action. Something is going to have to give when these two outfits collide, prompting a rather tight soccer betting line for this week 24 EPL betting clash.

Contrary to popular opinion and the Premier League table, it's the hosts that are marginally favored at +138 to win outright and the visitors matched at +220 soccer odds, with the draw trading at +220. Do the bookies have it right?

Maybe it's anybody's game for the taking, but given current Premier League form the balance tips in favor of the visitors. The Eagles have the momentum right now and with wins over Southampton and Tottenham to their credit in recent weeks, they'll fancy their chances against Leicester City. Take the Eagles as the +220 road underdogs on your EPL soccer picks for the weekend.

Soccer Picks: Crystal Palace +220

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":299782, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
