3M Open Fantasy Golf Power Rankings: Odds and Picks Among Top Contenders

PGA Tour fantasy golf power rankings for 2022 3M Open. Odds and picks from the top favorites. Don't miss out!

Our fantasy golf power rankings for the 2022 3M Open look at the golfers at the top of the odds list and highlight who to pick in pools this week.

The 3M Open is held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, MN, and it is far from a star-studded field with a lot of the world’s best players opting out after playing The Open Championship last week.

In fact, Hideki Matsuyama and Tony Finau are the only two in the field inside the top 20 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Here’s a peek at the top of the odds list from Caesars SportsbookDraftKings Sportsbook, and FanDuel Sportsbook for the 3M Open.

3M Open Fantasy Power Rankings

10. J.T. Poston

While he missed the cut at The Open Championship, Poston’s previous two showings impressed with a win at the John Deere Classic and second-place finish at the Travelers Championship. Poston finished 28th at the 3M Open last season, and he fired three rounds in the 60s.

9. Davis Riley

Ranking 12th in birdie average and 35th in scoring average this season, Riley is a definite contender this week in the shallow field. He has six top-10 finishes, including a solo second-place result at the Valspar Championship in March. Additionally, the 25-year-old American has made eight consecutive cuts.

8. Cam Davis

Coming off a sixth-place finish in the Barracuda Championship, Davis is in excellent form. He’s made six consecutive cuts with three top-10 results and has a 28th- and 12th-place finish at the 3M Open during the past two seasons. Expect the 27-year-old Aussie to be in contention again this Sunday.

7. Cameron Tringale

The 12-year vet has made 10 of his last 12 cuts and was particularly solid at the Genesis Scottish Open with a T-6 finish. Tringale has five top-10 results for the season, and he’s also shown well at TPC Twin Cities. He’s played the weekend in all three stops at the course and topped out with a third-place finish in the 2020 event.

6. Adam Hadwin

It’s been a bit of a down year for the 34-year-old Canadian, as Hadwin’s best finish is a T-4 at the Valero Texas Open.  Tying for seventh at the U.S. Open was encouraging, but then he missed the cut at the John Deere Classic. Still, he ranks 32nd in strokes gained: total for the year and is one of the most accomplished players in the field.

5. Sahith Theegala

While Theegala doesn’t stand out statistically, he’s posted five top-10 finishes on the season and finished as high as T-2 at the Travelers Championship in July. The rookie has also made eight consecutive cuts. However, he didn’t play the weekend in his lone trip to TPC Twin Cities in 2020.

4. Sungjae Im

Ranking 12th in strokes gained: total and 36th in scoring average for the year, Im is among the betting favorites for a reason. He won the Shriners Children’s Open earlier this season, and he’s also posted 12 top-25 finishes in 21 events. Im finished 15th in the 2019 3M Open – his lone trip to TPC Twin Cities.

3. Maverick McNealy

The maiden victory is coming for McNealy, and he’s in solid form with T-8, T-16, and T-9 results, respectively, in his last three tournaments. McNealy ranks 18th in birdie average and 33rd in scoring average for the campaign, and he’s missed only four cuts in 23 events, so the consistency is also impressive.

2. Tony Finau

The betting favorite is still looking for his first win of the season. Finau has played the 3M Open three times, and a third-place finish in the 2020 edition was his best result. The two-time PGA Tour winner ranks 13th in strokes gained: tee-to-green, and there’s probably statistical correction ahead for his minus-.146 strokes gained: putting after posting a 0.90 mark last year.

1. Hideki Matsuyama

It’s a little surprising Matsuyama isn’t the consensus favorite this week. He’s already won twice this season and ranks third in strokes gained: approach, 22nd in strokes gained: total, and 10th in birdie average. Expect the eight-time PGA Tour winner to be a popular target for both punters and poolies.
