Next weekend, the 2017/18 English Premier League season gets underway with 10 matches. But before the season gets going, let’s look at the opening Point Totals numbers from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.

The 2017/18 English Premier League will begin in 10 days when Arsenal host Leicester City in the season and Matchweek 1 opener next Friday from the Emirates Stadium in North London. The Gunners will be coming straight off on an FA Community Shield match on Sunday (Aug. 6) against Chelsea from Wembley Stadium in a mouthwatering London Derby between the defending league champions and the 2016/17 FA Cup winners. But before the new season starts, let’s look at the 2017/18 EPL Point Totals posted for the 20 clubs from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook from here in sultry Sin City.

As expected, EPL odds favorite Manchester City have the highest-set “Regular Season” Point Total at 80½ (Over, Under -110) with not-so-noisy neighbors Manchester United coming in 2 points less at 78½ with Chelsea  set at 77½. Last year, the Sky Blues finished with 78 points (3rd place), the Red Devils with 69 points (6th place) while the Blues—who open the season facing Burnley at Stamford Bridge ended with 93 points in winning the league under first-year hyper-electric Manager Antonio Conte. Brighton & Hove Albion, Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United have all moved up to England’s top flight of Football this year while 18th-place Hull City (34 points), 19th-place Middlesbrough (28) and 20th-place Sunderland (24) were all relegated.

Here are opening 2017/18 EPL Regular Season Point Totals numbers from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook which has the best Soccer betting menu and odds here in the Silver State.

Manchester United Manager Mourinho Has Proven Track Record of Winning Big in His Second Season with Clubs

United Manager José “The Special One” Mourinho has been extremely successful in his second season with his new clubs, with Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid. Although Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney may be gone from Old Trafford, the Red Devils seem to be the team of choice for outstanding GK David De Gea, who has been courted heavily by Real Madrid. And with Romelu Lukaku (Everton) and Nemanja Matic (Chelsea) coming over in the Summer Transfer window, the Red Devils are a club to watch, but this team really needs to restore its Home-pitch edge again (8-10-1 at Home in 2016) and try to turn at least more than half of those of 2016 season Draws (10) into Wins. United open the season on Sunday, Aug. 13 at Home at Old Trafford in Manchester against West Ham United (best lines offered for this match can be found at Intertops), and the 78½-point Total set for the Red Devils looks like a good one to bet Over with United likely to concentrate more on Defense.

Another club which looks like a good bet Over its’ 74½ Total is Tottenham Hotspur, who finished with 86 points last season (2nd place), but, like the aforementioned Red Devils, suffered in the Points category (and consequently the Standings) from a plethora of Draws (13) in the 2016/17 EPL season. With the prolific Harry Kane, the speedy Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and GK Hugo Lloris, Spurs (8/1 to win EPL, SuperBook) have as good a Roster as they have in years but it’s important to remember when handicapping Tottenham Futures and individual matches this coming season that this is a team which will have to endure the rigors of playing UEFA Championship League football as well as having to play all 19 of its Home games at Wembley Stadium while their new digs are being built. Spurs are at the Geordie Shore and St. James’ Park to battle Newcastle United and the Magpies in Matchweek 1 on Sunday, Aug. 13.

Two clubs which may be worth looking at betting Under their posted Point Totals this season are West Bromwich Albion who went 10-13-15 last season (43 points) and finished in 10th place, 11 points above the Relegation Line, and, Watford, who finished with the third-worst Goal Differential in the EPL (-26) in a season which saw Captain Troy Deeney, Étienne Capoue and the Hornets only muster 40 goals and finish just one place (17th, 40 points) above Relegation. Nathaniel Chalobah and Watford open the season on Saturday, Aug. 12 hosting Liverpool (10/1 to win EPL, SuperBook) at Vicarage Road (NBCSN, 7:30 am ET; WAT +425, DRAW +300, LIV -182, 2½o -133, Intertops).
