Bettors are no longer confined to sports but can now bet props on all kinds of events. We turn our attention then to the 2015 Emmy Awards odds and analyze which actors & shows will bring home hardware.

Don't Miss all of our Odds for the 2015 Emmys

Outstanding Comedy Series

Veep (-110)

Transparent (+250)

Modern Family (+300)

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (+1600)

Silicon Valley (+2200)

Louie (+2500)

There was a time when the average working stiff would recognize all the players in every category because there was no Amazon Network, Netflix, HBO, Starz or Showtime. Yes, that seems like a day and age when dinosaurs roamed the earth but now we have more than just the alphabet soup networks vying for our attention and thus we have five of six lined nominees that air on non-traditional network television.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus gained fame and fortune on the legendary comedy Seinfeld back in the 80’s and 90’s but is now the star of her own critically acclaimed show Veep. While Modern Family has won five consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series the voters are always looking for something fresh and that appears to be Veep which swept the Golden Globes and should cop an Emmy here.

Emmy Pick: Veep (-110) in your Emmy Award picks at Betfair.com.

Outstanding Drama Series

Mad Men (-110)

Game of Thrones (-110)

House of Cards (+1400)

Orange is the New Black (+2000)

Better Call Saul (+3300)

Homeland (+3300)

Downton Abbey (+3300)

This is really a two-horse race and the Emmy odds makers have reflected that in making both series the chalky favorites in this category. Mad Men may be on its way out and the sentimental choice to cop the Emmy but Game of Thrones this past season was the best of the bunch.

Emmy Pick: Game of Thrones (-110) in your Emmy Award picks at Betfair.com.

Lead Comedy Actress

Julia Louis Dreyfus (Veep) -200

Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) +275

Amy Schumer (Inside Amy Schumer) +400

Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) +1800

Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback) +1800

Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie) +2500

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the heavy chalk in this one and based on her results in the other award shows she should be a runaway winner. However, Amy Schumer is the “it” girl this season and if her surging popularity holds it would not surprise me if in fact she walks away with the prize.

Emmy Pick: Amy Schumer +400 in your Emmy Award picks at betfair.com.

Lead Comedy Actor

Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) -900

William H Macy (Shameless) +1400

Will Forte (Last Man on Earth) +1400

Anthony Anderson (Black-ish) +2000

Don Cheadle (House of Lies) +2000

Louis C K (Louie) +2000

Matt LeBlanc (Episodes) +2000

Jeffrey Tambor is the prohibitive favorite but I’m not laying -900 on Kim Kardashian looking at herself in the mirror tomorrow let alone the whimsy that is the judge’s fancy regarding awards’ shows. Therefore let’s move a few notches down as the Emmy Award odds skyrocket to Anthony Anderson of Black-ish. His role is a modern day Cosby as an upwardly mobile African-American who is desperately clinging to his roots amidst a lily white backdrop.

Emmy Pick: Anthony Anderson +2000 at Betfair.com.

Lead Actress Drama

Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder) +350

Taraji P. Henson (Empire) +400

Robin Wright (House of Cards) +500

Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) +500

Claire Danes (Homeland) +1100

Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) +2200

Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) +10000

Peggy Olson, played seamlessly by Elisabeth Moss, is a character who will be fading off into syndication and the Academy could very well reward Elisabeth Moss not only for this past season but for all the seasons she toiled as the ambitious former secretary.

Emmy Pick: Elisabeth Moss +2200 at Betfair.com

Lead Actor Drama

Jon Hamm (Mad Men) +300

Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) +400

Terrence Howard (Empire) +700

Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) +700

Kyle Chandler (Bloodline) +1400

Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) +1600

Jon Hamm will bring home the hardware for the same reason Elisabeth Moss will do the same. Without ever getting any Emmy love for his portrayal of Don Draper in the past, the time is nigh for the Academy to grace both actors for their acting chops if not their longevity.

Emmy Pick: Jon Hamm +300 at Betfair.com.
