Sunday WNBA Picks of The Day

Jordan’s WNBA Picks 46-45-3
Connecticut Sun at LA Sparks
Some early action on Sunday could be a potential playoff showdown as the Sun take on the Sparks. Both teams are vying for the top two spots in the playoffs and a double bye right now, so this game should be intense and have plenty of good basketball.
However, I think there is some value in the first half lines that may indicate a higher scoring first 20 minutes.
Over their last five games, both teams have been playing at increased first half paces and less defense early in the games. The Sun are allowing 102.4 points per 100 possessions over their last five first halves as well.
Add in that the Sparks play at a very fast first half pace at home and I think there is room for an over play here.
Not only is the over a good play, I think the Sparks are as well. They are allowing only 92.5 points per 100 possessions in the first half, while the Sun allow 102.6 points per 100 possessions in the first halves of their road games.
While I think the whole game will be close, I see the Sparks coming out hot on offense and carrying a lead into halftime with well over 40 first half points.
My Pick: Sparks 1H ATS and OVER 1H @ 5Dimes
Las Vegas Aces at Minnesota Lynx
The Lynx are trying to stay in the playoff hunt and they have a tough task to topple the Aces on Sunday.
However, Minnesota is a lot better than the spread is suggesting here, especially at home. They have the third best home defense in the WNBA and in their home first halves, they have the league’s best defense.
The Aces have started slow at times on the road and I think that could happen again here on Sunday. Even though both teams are in a fight for playoff positioning, the Lynx could be the play here ATS.
If the Lynx bring their defense early in the game, I like their chances of covering this first half spread. The last time they played, they were within two points of the Aces on the road, so now at home where they play a lot better defense, I think they could even be ahead at the half.
My Pick: Lynx 1H ATS @ Pinnacle
