We’re going to examine Saturday’s epic rivalry game between the Yankees & Red Sox. Will the Yankees win their fifth in a row this season at Fenway Park?

Yankees and Red Sox Classic Rivalry on Display
The Red Sox and Yankees meet at Fenway Park in Boston today at 7:15 PM ET. This will be the second of a three game series played between these bitter AL East rivals. The Yankees took the series opener on Friday 5-1, and are now a perfect 4-0 at Fenway Park this year. The Yankees are the leaders in a very competitive AL East, and hold a 6.5 game lead over fifth place Boston.

Starting Pitchers
The Yankees turn to right-hander Ivan Nova today. After missing a prolonged period of time due to injury, Nova recently was activated from the disabled list, and his return has been a positive one. In three starts, he’s posted a solid 2.65 ERA. Nova has averaged 5 2/3 innings per outing, and a stellar bullpen has been beneficial in bringing the veteran hurler along at a very comfortable pace.

Boston’s Eduardo Rodriguez will get the start on Saturday. Rodriguez has struggled in four starts at home with a sizable 7.52 ERA, and all of those games went over the total. The southpaw hurler is 1-3 in his team starts versus AL East opponents this year, and compiled an unimpressive 7.08 ERA in those outings.

Final Take
The Yankees have gone a solid 6-2 during their previous eight games. They’ve pretty much held serve on the road in 2015 with a respectable 21-22 record. “The Bronx Bombers” have pounded out a formidable 112 home runs in their first 86 games.

The Red Sox are a dismal 16-26 in 2015 versus AL East opponents. Boston has also gone a terrible 19-33 at home since 2014 when facing an American League starting pitcher with an ERA of 4.00 or less. On a positive note, Boston is averaging 6.0 runs per game and hitting a stellar .285 as a team during their last seven contests.

I’ll have a very slight lean on the money line road underdog in this game for one of my MLB picks on Saturday. At the time of this writing, 5Dimes clearly has the most favorable odds in that regard.

MLB Pick: Yankees +134 on the money line at 5Dimes.
