One of the top rivalries in baseball puts on its latest rendition this week at Fenway Park. Here are our Yankees-Red Sox same-game parlay picks for Tuesday.
The New York Yankees ride into this rivalry series with the Red Sox at Fenway Park with their heavy lumber in tow following consecutive 10-run outputs against the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend. Will their season success against the Boston Red Sox’s Tuesday starter lead to another hit parade?
Here are my same-game parlay picks for Tuesday’s matchup between the Yankees and Red Sox (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).
Yankees vs. Red Sox Same Game Parlay Picks
Same Game Parlay Predictions for Yankees vs. Red Sox
Yankees ML (-162) ★★★★★
The Yankees have been somewhat underwhelming as road favorites this season with an outright record of only 31-28. In road games started by Gerrit Cole this season, though, the Yankees are 9-4. However, they won only six of those games by more than the -1.5 run line for Tuesday, so we’re looking to play things safer with the moneyline for the first leg of the parlay.
Boston’s Nick Pivetta was torched for seven runs in his last outing against the Yankees on July 16 and hasn’t been effective against them at any point in 2022 with an 11.48 ERA across three head-to-head starts. We like the matchup for the Bronx Bombers to put up enough runs to back Cole in this outing.
Though our official parlay shies away from the run line, the matchup is juicy enough to produce a Yankees blowout win. The combined parlay odds boost to +478 at FanDuel if you want to make the leap beyond Yankees ML.

Over 8.5 (-110) ★★★★
In three starts against the Yankees this season, Pivetta has allowed 17 earned runs in 13 1/3 innings pitched. He took the loss in two of the three games. Pivetta has improved upon his season numbers recently, posting a 3.68 ERA since the beginning of August, but he’s still susceptible to a rotten game against New York.
Pivetta will need to find some sense of stability in order for things not to get so far out of hand that the Over cashes before he turns things over to the bullpen. And when he does, New York gets to face a Boston bullpen whose 4.49 ERA this season ranks 25th in MLB.
Even if Cole puts together a vintage performance, I’m not too concerned for the total. Entering this game after scoring 20 runs over their last two contests, the Yankees' bats should contribute heavily to the 9 combined runs needed for the Over.
Cole Over 6.5 strikeouts (-146) ★★★★
In his two starts against Boston since the beginning of July, Cole struck out seven and 12 batters, respectively. Though his inconsistency is occasionally alarming, we’re obviously viewing Cole highly enough to get the Yankees to a win on Tuesday.
Since the start of July, Cole has been a more dominant strikeout pitcher in games that the Yankees win, fanning an average of 9.83 batters per outing. In Yankees losses during that span, Cole has averaged just 6.85 strikeouts per start.
Fresh off a 14-K performance against the Minnesota Twins in his last start, I like Cole to continue his recent success against the Red Sox by clearing this conservative total set at FanDuel. DraftKings lists Cole for 7-plus strikeouts at -230, making FanDuel the obvious choice for Tuesday’s same-game parlay.
