We browse the early MLB odds board in search of betting value on Wednesday's card. Read on and find out why the Yankees and Red Sox can maximize your profits.

Reds vs. Yankees

Right-hander Homer Bailey (2-4, 8.56 ERA, 2.05 WHIP) takes the hill for the Reds, looking to snap a two-start losing streak. Bailey did pitch well against the Marlins last Friday, giving up just two earned runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of a 3-1 loss. He lowered his ERA from 10.13 to 8.56 and he has a 6.28 ERA in three road starts. The current Yankees lineup is hitting .278 against him, with Matt Holliday going 14-for-43 with five doubles, one triple, two home runs and eight RBI.

Luis Severino (6-4, 3.21 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) will get the ball for the Yankees after throwing his third consecutive quality start. Severino tossed seven scoreless innings against the Mariners last Thursday, surrendering eight hits and one walk with six strikeouts in a 4-1 win and now he's 1-0 with a 1.71 ERA over his last three starts. I can't trust in Bailey this season, I'm taking the Yankees -1.5 at home at -110 MLB odds because of Severino's recent dominance.

Red Sox vs. Mariners

Chris Sale (11-4, 2.59 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) starts for the Red Sox after throwing six scoreless innings against the Angels last Friday, allowing just four hits, two walks and nine strikeouts in a 6-2 win. Sale hasn't given up a run over his last 14 2/3 innings of work and he's averaging an impressive 12.7 strikeouts per nine innings (K/9) while leading the American League with a 2.48 ERA, 141 1/3 innings pitched, 200 strikeouts, an 0.89 WHIP and 12 wins.

Andrew Moore (1-2, 5.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) will make his sixth start for the Mariners, looking for his first win since June 22. Moore struggled against the Yankees last Friday, giving up five earned runs on nine hits (one home run) with one walk and two strikeouts in six innings of a 5-1 loss. The right-hander has allowed 10 earned runs on 15 hits (four home runs) in nine innings of work over his last two starts and I don't see how he can slow down the Red Sox. Look for Sale to continue his incredible form here and add the Red Sox -205 to your MLB picks.
