Today we examine the MLB betting odds in the game between the Rangers and Yankees. Read our informative sports wagering article that will provide you with the information needed in order to be a successful sports bettor tonight.

Battle in the Bronx
The Yankees will host the Rangers in the Bronx on Monday with the first pitch slated for 7:05 PM ET. According to MLB betting odds the Yankees are a -165 money line home favorite and the posted total is 9.0. This will be the first meeting of the season between these clubs.

Starting Pitchers
The Rangers will go with 25-year old right-hander Mile Mikolas on the mound today. The youngster has had a tough go at it since being called up from the minors at the beginning of this month. He’s gone 0-3 against the money line with a huge 10.05 ERA and 1.88 WHIP. Prior to this season his only other MLB experience was in 27 relief appearances for the Padres. The burly 6’5 hurler posted a 3.44 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with San Diego.

The Yankees will counter with a youngster of their own in 25-year old Shane Greene. The right-hander has been much more formidable than his pitching adversary tonight since being recalled up from AAA Scranton Wilkes-Barre on July 7th. He’s gone a perfect 2-0 against the money line with a terrific 1.35 ERA and 0.75 WHIP.

Reeling Rangers
The Texas Rangers are coming off a 9-6 loss at Toronto on Sunday. The loss has now made the Rangers 4-24 over their last 28-games. Texas has been ravaged by injuries this season, which has resulted in them possessing the worst record in the American League at 39-59 (.398).  The Rangers have gone a dismal 3-9 in their last 12-games at Yankee Stadium.

Bronx Bombers Hanging Tough
Despite one of having one of their weaker teams in over a decade, and losing 4 starters due to various injuries, the Yankees have stayed competitive in the AL East race. They returned from the all-star break in impressive fashion by sweeping a 3-game series at Yankee Stadium versus a very good Cincinnati Reds team this past weekend. It’s highly improbable that they will be in the AL East pennant race for the duration due to a now suspect starting rotation. However, kudos goes out to Yankees skipper Joe Girardi who may be doing the best managerial job of his career.

Final Analysis
This is surely a lot of juice to be laid, but there’s no chance of me making a case for the Rangers in this spot. The Yankees have a huge edge in the starting pitching department tonight, and are obviously the more confident ball club at this juncture. This nightmare of a season for the Rangers can’t end soon enough.
