If you examine the schedule sometimes there are some uninteresting games that have value on them. I think we have that today with the Reds getting some underdog value for your MLB pick.

Cincinnati Reds
Brandon Finnegan takes the mound for Cincinnati with a 4.27 ERA and 1.35 whip along with a 4.46 ERA on the road this season. Despite that high ERA the young left-hander has batters hitting just .225 against him when he travels. Recently he has been hot and cold but for the most part has been pitching very well over his last five starts allowing just nine earned runs in just over 30 innings of work. In that span he threw some shutout baseball allowing zero earned runs versus St. Louis and the Dodgers allowing just three hits total in 13 innings.

He definitely has the capability to come in and pitch well, at least well enough where I think the value is backing him on the plus money line. Although the Reds are well out of the playoffs the second half of the season they've actually been swinging the bat decently despite a small slump the last few games. Today things should get a lot better for them versus an Angels pitcher who has yet to win a start and I expect for this Cincinnati offense that was leading the National League in batting average this past week to have some nice quality at-bats today.

Los Angeles Angels
Ricky Nolasco takes the mound for Los Angeles with a 5.24 ERA and 1.36 this season while the Angels have lost all five starts he has made for them since coming from Minnesota. He actually has not been extremely horrible in his starts for Los Angeles but he has allowed 19 earned runs in 30 innings of work over those five starts. It makes sense still for the Angels to be the favorite today considering how hot they have been lately but still value wise I don't see any reason to back Nolasco as a favorite.

Los Angeles at the plate is probably one of the more underrated offenses in baseball but they can struggle at times. In their recent 10 game stretch in which they've won more than they've lost they have been hot and cold scoring a few times six plus runs per game but also a few times scoring two runs or less. I believe this a good spot to go ahead and grab some plus money against them as a face a pretty hot pitcher in Finnegan.

Cincinnati Reds vs L.A. Angels
Odds makers have come out making Cincinnati a +126 underdog like at Bookmaker. For my MLB pick I'm going to take a shot with the Reds in this spot as they have a good pitcher on the mound and are facing a struggling starter for Los Angeles. The Angels still have a losing record at home so grabbing some plus money value against them in a meaningless game I believe is the way to go.
