In interleague today I am backing over the total between the Oakland A's and San Diego Padres as my MLB Pick.  Pretty low total in this game with two decent hitting teams.

Good Not Great
Both pitchers today have ERA's just below 4.00 but neither of them have been consistently dominant.  It looks like there is a lot of value on the under being placed because of the venue, Petco Park.  Jesse Hahn comes in for the A's with a 3.84 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.  Pretty good stats but he is still early in his career and has been knocked around more than once this season.  In his last outing he gave up four earned runs on seven hits in just three innings.  Tyson Ross takes the mound for the Padres and comes in with a 3.81 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.  He has been pretty solid this year and is a good strikeout pitcher with 83 K's in 75 innings pitched.

Good Not Great Part II
The Padres rank 8th in the league in runs per game and the A's 14th.  Both teams have decent enough offenses to put up enough runs in this spot.  They rank in the middle of the league in most offensive categories, but one stat that does jump out at me is the A's rank 5th in team strikeouts per game.  Against Ross that will come into play.

With Hahn still getting his feet wet and with Ross's high WHIP I like both these offenses to put up more than enough runs to get over the total.
