Ross Benjamin has gone 4-1 with his MLB totals picks during the past two wagering days. Today he provides us with analysis on Cardinals-Rockies & Mariners-Indians.

Cardinals (Martinez) vs. Rockies (Bettis) 3:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have gone 14-3-2 under the MLB odds total during their previous eighteen games. They’re hitting just a paltry .222 as a team during their previous seven games, and have left six men or less on base during the last five outings. The Cardinals will send Carlos Martinez to the mound this afternoon. Martinez has displayed exceptional form of his last five starts, posting a microscopic 0.84 ERA in those outings.

The Rockies Chad Bettis has been in terrific form during his previous three starts, compiling a superb 1.21 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. As a matter of fact, he’s 5-0 in his team starts overall this year with a stellar 2.70 ERA.

Any team (St. Louis) with a total of 10.0 or more that’s left 7 or less men on base in each of their previous four games, and has a starting pitcher (Martinez) with a 2.50 ERA or less during his last five starts, resulted in that team going 40-13 (75.5%) under the total since 1997. This betting system just fortifies my conclusion of this being a low scoring game, and that’s exactly what one of my MLB picks for today will be. When shopping for the best price, 5Dimes was the choice.

MLB Picks: Play on the Cardinals and Rockies to go under the total of 10.0 (-110) at 5Dimes.

Mariners (Walker) vs. Indians (Bauer) 7:10 PM ET
Although the Mariners starting pitcher Tijuan Walker has pitched brilliantly in his last two outings, both of those performances have come at home. Walker is 1-5 in his team starts on the road during this 2015 MLB campaign while posting a monster 9.79 ERA, and a huge 2.21 WHIP.

The Indians Trevor Bauer has an unimpressive 4.46 ERA in six starts this year. He’s made three career starts versus Seattle, all have come since 2014, and he compiled a lofty 5.10 ERA in addition to 1.61 WHIP during those outings.

Both of these teams have played on the low side of the number with frequency of late. However, despite that being the case, the total has gone from its opener of 7.5 to the current number of 8.5 across the board. My lean on this game today is for a high scoring affair, and my MLB picks on Wednesday will be reflective of just that. The best price I could find regarding this total was at 5Dimes.

MLB Picks: Play on the Mariners and Indians to go over the total of 8.5 (-105) at 5 Dimes.
