Rockies and Diamondbacks meet in Coors Field with the Dbacks as underdog. Starting pitcher Patrick Corbin pitched well at Coors, so is there value in backing as our MLB Pick?

The opening MLB Odds have made Arizona +102 underdog like at Bet Online. For my MLB pick I'm going to back Arizona today but I think this line is probably going to move a bit before first pitch. Patrick Corbin has pitched well against Colorado the past few seasons and I look for him to have another stellar start today.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Patrick Corbin takes the mound for Arizona and comes in with a 4.63 ERA and 1.39 whip on the season with the Diamondbacks hitting .266 as a team which ranks seventh in major league baseball. Corbin does not have very good stats the season but for the most part he has pitched decently and in his last two starts particularly where he's allowed just five earned runs in 12 innings. What really jumps out at me today is the fact that he is pitched very well against Colorado the past few years with a record of 5-0 and a 3.43 ERA.

More impressively in that time span is his time on the mound at Coors field, not known to be a pitcher friendly park. While pitching there he has a 2-0 record with a 3.20 ERA allowing just seven earned runs in 20 innings of work with just two home runs. Although Colorado is one of the better hitting teams statistically this year Corbin should come in with a lot of confidence.

At the plate Arizona has been one of the better hitting teams in all of major league baseball ranking in the top 10 in most categories currently ranking seventh in OPS and batting average as well as sixth in hits per game. With their decent offense combined with Corbin on the mound they are a good value play.

Colorado Rockies
Chad Bettis gets the start for Colorado and comes in with a 5.44 ERA and 1.46 whip with Colorado hitting .272 as a team which ranks third in major league baseball. Offensively Colorado ranks as one of the best teams in baseball ranking second in OPS, fourth in runs scored per game, and third in hits per game.

Of course a lot of that has to do with the fact is that they have arguably the friendliest hitter park in all of baseball. As mentioned Arizona starter today has had some success pitching at Coors field but it has been the opposite for today's starter for the Rockies Bettis.

In his career Bettis has a 6.50 ERA at Coors field with batters hitting .324 against him. Those are some seriously large numbers that again puts some solid value on backing the Diamondbacks today. Don't expect for him to hold down a very good Arizona offense and for Corbin to do enough to get the win.
