We are confident that the Atlanta Braves will upset the MLB odds today while sweeping the NY Mets. Our Money Line picks is supported by data from a baseball betting system.
Braves Look to Sweep Mets in Atlanta
The Braves host the Mets on Sunday at 5:05 PM ET. Today will be the finale of a three game series between these NL East rivals, and Atlanta has taken each of the first two encounters. My area of focus in this article will be geared toward money line MLB picks.
Matt Harvey bounced back with a strong start his last outing after going through a very trying period. Harvey was coming off four terrible starts in a row when he faced a red-hot Toronto Blue Jays team this past Tuesday. The Mets ace allowed 0 earned runs on 4 hits in 7.0 innings during a 3-2 win. It was a welcomed site for Mets fans and the entire organization for that matter. In his four starts prior to Tuesday, he posted a 7.20 ERA, and allowed a whopping 8 home runs in just 25.0 innings. Harvey hasn’t faced the Braves since 2013, and in two career starts versus Atlanta has a 3.46 ERA.
Julio Teheran has been a disappointment thus far in the 2015 season. In fourteen starts he’s posted a lofty 5.07 ERA. However, the majority of his issues have come on the road. Teheran has compiled a stellar 2.77 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in six home starts. He’s faced the Mets twice this season, posted a 4.36 ERA, and both outings came in early April.
Mets Offense Struggling
The Mets enter today on a four game losing streak. During that stretch they’ve been outscored by a cumulative 23-6. The Mets have averaged 6.3 hits and 2.2 runs per game in their previous six contests. They’ve gone a terrific 24-11 at home this season, and a horrible 10-23 on the road.
Braves Hang Tough
Although it’s still fairly early in the year, Atlanta has managed to hang in the NL East race. They’ve been able to do so due to an on overall ineptness in the division, and at 34-35 are just 2.0 games behind the first place Washington Nationals. Putting this into perspective, the four teams besides the Braves in the NL East have a cumulative record of 123-164 (.429). Compare that to the AL East for example, and those clubs are 180-166 (.520).
Money Line Betting System and Pick
Any money line home underdog of +100 or more (Braves), and has a bullpen ERA less than 3.00 in their previous fifteen games, versus an opponent (Mets) with a bullpen WHIP of greater than 2.00, resulted in the home team going 32-13 (71.1%) since 2011.
I’m going to take a calculated risk on the money line home underdog in this game for one of my MLB picks today. GTBets provides me with the best value in that regard.
