A new day brings with it a new set of challenges, which is why we're here to help. We've released another edition of our daily MLB odds report, complete with our top picks for Wednesday.

Atlanta Braves (Wood) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Cole)
Covered by Willie Bee
The NL East is getting crazy. The Marlins have won three straight and the Braves have put together a five-game winning streak, but they're still both behind the Nationals, who have reeled off eight consecutive victories.

Gerrit Cole and Alex Wood start for their respective teams and both have been solid throughout the season. Regardless, Willie is banking on the OVER cashing at the sportsbooks.

MLB Pick: OVER 7.5

Los Angeles Angels (Richards) vs. Boston Red Sox (Buchholz)
Covered by Willie Bee and Ross Benjamin
The Angels have pushed into the narrow lead in the division, and now they get to call on trusty right-hander Garrett Richards, who's 13-4 with a 2.53 ERA this season. For Boston, Clay Buchholz (5-7, 5.79 ERA) gets the start.

Willie has opted for the UNDER with his MLB picks, while Ross thinks the Angels will get after Buchholz and ride that to a win.

MLB Pick: Willie: UNDER 8.5 // Ross: Angels -131

Cincinnati Reds (Cueto) vs. St. Louis Cardinals (Lynn)
Covered by Ron Patrick
Another interesting matchup here, as Lance Lynn and Johnny Cueto have been straight up dominant at times. The MLB betting odds are favoring St. Louis at home, but there's really not much in it.

Anytime you can get Cueto, who's 15-6 with a 2.06 ERA this season, at an underdog price, you've got to consider it, even though the Cardinals (38-26) have been terrific at Busch Stadium. Ron is all over this price on Cueto and the Cardinals.

MLB Pick: Reds +105

San Diego Padres (Stults) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Hernandez)
Covered by Ron Patrick and Jeff Grant
It's been a good start to Roberto Hernandez's career with the Dodgers. He's been more than serviceable thus far and will try to keep it going in a plus matchup at home versus the Padres this evening.

Left-hander Eric Stults will take the bump for San Diego and he's 5-13 with a 4.64 ERA on the season. Ron is taking the Padres to win as dogs, but Jeff is going the other way and siding with Hernandez and the Dodgers.

MLB Pick: Ron: Padres +130 // Jeff: Dodgers -140

New York Mets (Wheeler) vs. Oakland Athletics (Samardzija)
Covered by Ross Benjamin
This afternoon we've got two hard-throwing righties taking the mound. Jeff Samardzija (3-2, 3.21 ERA) and Zack Wheeler (8-8, 3.49 ERA) have been good this season, so we could see two struggling offenses.

Ross is on the same page and will be selecting the UNDER as one of his sports picks for the day. Will the starters show up?

MLB Pick: Ross: UNDER 7

San Francisco Giants (Peavy) vs. Chicago Cubs (Jackson)
Covered by Jeff Grant
Tough to trust either Edwin Jackson or Jake Peavy, right? Peavy looks like he's starting to settle down, but he's still been prone for breakdowns, and the same can be said for Edwin Jackson, who's 6-13 with a 5.74 ERA on the year.

In the end, Jeff sees value in a first-five innings play on San Francisco and we can't fault him for thinking in that way at all.

MLB Pick: Giants First 5 Innings

Houston Astros (Feldman) vs. New York Yankees (Pineda)
Covered by Joe Catalano
We close out at Yankee Stadium, where Michael Pineda will make his second start since returning from injury. He looked sharp last week, and now gets a good home matchup against the strikeout-heavy Astros.

Houston turns to Scott Feldman and he's also rounding into form, and at such an attractive price at Pinnacle Sports, Joe is putting his faith in the large road underdogs to get it done.

MLB Pick: Astros +176
