Another early start to today's baseball action means we've got to get our work in early. We're here to help your handicapping endeavors with an in-depth preview of the MLB betting odds, along with some of our top picks of the day.

Baltimore Orioles (Gonzalez) vs. New York Yankees (Tanaka)
Covered by Willie Bee
Yesterday was ugly for Ivan Nova and the Yankees and they'll obviously be hoping they can get a better start out of Masahiro Tanaka tonight. He was good in his MLB debut against Toronto and will now make his home debut for the Yankees.

For tonight, Willie is thinking the OVER is the best course of action in what he expects to be another relatively high-scoring game.

MLB Pick: OVER 8.5

Texas Rangers (Ross) vs. Boston Red Sox (Peavy)
Covered by Ron Patrick
Texas was the last one standing in yesterday's 10-7 win at Fenway. For this afternoon we've got Jake Peavy, who will be opposed by the Rangers' Robbie Ross.

Both Peavy and Ross were decent in their season debuts, each allowing only two earned runs in their respective no decisions. Ron, though, is on the lookout for a lot of offense once again and will be recommending the OVER.

MLB Pick: OVER 8.5

San Diego Padres (Stults, Erlin) vs. Cleveland Indians (McAllister, Bauer)
Covered by Willie Bee
Game one had already begun at time of this writing, but Willie had decided to take Cleveland in both games of today's double-header.

This afternoon's matchup will feature Trevor Bauer and Robbie Erlin in what will be each pitcher's first start of the season. Cleveland obviously has the advantage with the better hitting lineup and the home-field advantage, so it's no surprise to see who Willie likes with his MLB picks.

MLB Pick: Game 1: Indians -135, Game 2: Indians -135

Pittsburgh Pirates (Rodriguez) vs. Chicago Cubs (Hammel)
Covered by Ron Patrick
As most people expected, the Pirates have gotten off to a fast start and the Cubs have struggled out of the gate. Tonight the Cubs hope Jason Hammel can build off a great team debut and silence Pittsburgh's bats in the process.

Hammel gave up only two hits and a run over 6 and 2/3 innings his last time out, yet that isn't fazing Ron. He's still going to back the better overall team at this short price.

MLB Pick: Pirates -121

Detroit Tigers (Sanchez) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Beckett)
Covered by Jeff Grant
Carl Crawford was the hero of the night in yesterday's extra-innings win over the Tigers. Max Scherzer and Dan Haren were both solid for their respective clubs, despite getting no decisions.

This time around it'll be Josh Beckett and Anibal Sanchez on the mound. Sanchez only lasted four innings because of a rain delay in his first start, while this will be Beckett's first start of the season. Check back for Jeff's final pick shortly.

MLB Pick: Over 7

Arizona Diamondbacks (Arroyo) vs. San Francisco Giants (Lincecum)
Covered by Jeff Grant
These two teams are going opposite ways. The Giants have raced out to a 6-2 start, a far cry from what the Diamondbacks have been able to do. They've lost eight of ten to start out the season, giving them the worst record in the bigs.

Jeff believes we'll see more misery for Arizona tonight, as he points out the Giants have done well against division opponents with Tim Lincecum on the bump. He's backing San Francisco.

MLB Pick: Giants -142
