Pittsburgh starter Edison Volquez (10-7 ,3.58) has revived his career and he’ll be facing a very formidable starter in Wily Peralta (15-7 ,3.27) for the Brew Crew. See who we are leaning towards as our betting pick.

First pitch is set for 7:10 pm ET tonight at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This game can be seen on MLB TV.

Milwaukee is a moderate -132 betting favorite according to 5 Dimes Sportsbook and the betting total for the game is 8 runs. Find out why we are predicting a low scoring game at Miller Park tonight between the Pittsburgh Pirates (66-62) and Milwaukee Brewers (71-57).

Edison Volquez vs. the Brew Crew Bats
I think that this will be the key to this game as Milwaukee is loaded with talent in their lineup which is very deep. They have a lot of players such as Carlos Gomez, Aramis Ramirez, Ryan Braun, Jonathan Lucroy, and Khris Davis that are all guys that can pick up extra base hits at any time.

Simply stated, the Brewers lineup is deep and loaded. If one player is having a poor game, there’s another player that will make up the difference and have a huge game. This is the obstacle that Volquez will be facing.

Milwaukee was never a good team in the past because of their poor pitching, but this season, they’re vastly improved due to guys like Wily Peralta who is pitching tonight.

Peralta has picked up 6 out of his last 7 decisions all in his last 7 starts. All of these starts have been quality outings in which he hadn’t allowed more than 3 runs in a game. Peralta also has a career 1.29 ERA for his career against Pittsburgh in a short sampling. Look for Peralta to pitch well despite facing the likes of Josh Harrison and Andrew McCutchen.

This is a huge game being that both of these teams are in the same division. There’s a 2-game swing involved in the outcome.

“Home Run Harrison”
Even though Andrew McCutchen is back from injury and immediately making his presence felt, Josh Harrison is the top dog on this team. Harrison has been a beast since McCutchen was out of the lineup and is having a breakout season at the leadoff position.

After a home run and 5 RBI night last night, Harrison is currently hitting .308 in 383 regular season at-bats with 11 HR, 43 RBI, and 17 SB.

Simply stated, Harrison has been on fire for the last 2 ½ months. Suprisingly, most of Harrison’s power comes on the road. He’s hitting .325 with 9 HR and 27 RBI on the road and is a career .333 hitter with 2 HR and 8 RBI in 33 at-bats against Milwaukee. At this point, I consider Harrison to be more of a threat than McCutchen who was the 2013 NL MVP and that’s saying something.

Outcome
With these two team involved, offense instantly comes to mind, but good pitching prevails most of the time and that’s the case for this game. Take the 'under' as your MLB pick.
