We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Thursday's card. Read on and find two picks that will maximize your profits ahead of this week's NFL preseason games.

Red Sox vs. Indians

Left-hander Chris Sale (14-5, 2.62 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) takes the hill for the Red Sox, looking to bounce back from a tough outing against the Yankees last Saturday, when he gave up four earned runs on seven hits (two home runs) with one walk and nine strikeouts across seven innings in a 4-3 loss. Sale still leads the American League with 14 wins, 175 1/3 innings pitched, 250 strikeouts, a 2.62 ERA and an 0.89 WHIP and he's 8-3 with a 2.30 ERA and one complete game in 14 road starts.

Trevor Bauer (12-8, 4.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) will get the ball for the Indians, trying to win his sixth straight decision. Bauer threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Royals last Saturday, surrendering seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in a 5-0 win and he's 7-3 with a 3.83 ERA in 13 home starts. I'm looking at Under 7 at +106 MLB odds here, with Sale getting back on track and Bauer continuing his recent dominance.

Free MLB Pick: Under 7 (+106)

Cubs vs. Reds

Jake Arrieta (13-8, 3.63 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) will start for the Cubs, going for his fourth consecutive victory. Arrieta beat the Blue Jays on Friday, giving up just one earned run on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of a 7-4 win and he's now allowed two earned runs or fewer in his last seven starts.

Sal Romano (3-5, 5.32 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) will make his 10th start for the Reds after a dominant performance against the Braves last Friday, when he allowed one earned run on five hits (one home run) with two walks and three strikeouts over seven innings of a 5-3 win. Romano is just 1-3 with a 6.63 ERA in four home starts this season and Arrieta is closer to his Cy Young form than he was over the first three months of the season, so I'm adding the Cubs -170 to my MLB picks.

Free MLB Pick: Cubs -170
