It’s a busy Sunday on the baseball card with a total of seven MLB betting matchups starting before 2:00 PM ET. We’ve got our Sunday morning picks up and running for you.
Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees
Bud Norris and Michael Pineda are set to clash in this matchup and we should see a low-scoring affair in this one. Norris’ ERA of 9.75 looks atrocious but keep in mind that most of that damage was done in two horrendous starts against the Toronto Blue Jays. In those two outings, he gave up 17 earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched. However, outside of that, he’s allowed just nine earned runs in his other 18.2 innings pitched. He’s allowed a WHIP of 1.04 in that span, which is a huge difference from the 1.75 WHIP he’s posted on the season.
As for Pineda, he’s been reliable all season long, going 4-0 with a 2.97 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. He’s been particularly strong at home where he has a 2.33 ERA and is holding opposing batters to just .236 at the plate.
Add it all up and the under looks like the best choice for your MLB picks in this one.

Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Anytime Clay Buchholz is on the mound, the first thought should be an over as he’s been fairly inconsistent. He has an ERA of 6.03 and since starting with a seven-inning, three-hit shutout in his opener, he’s allowed a whopping 16 earned runs in his other 18 innings pitched. He’s already faced the Blue Jays once this season and was rocked for four earned runs on six hits in just 2.2 innings of work, which is why they are road dogs on the MLB betting odds board for this game. As for Dickey, he’s also faced this opponent once this season and while he lasted seven innings on April 29th, he still gave up four earned runs and nine hits.
Overall, this matchup looks like it should go over the number. With two good batting lineups and a very suspect pitching matchup, look for this to be a high-scoring affair.
MLB Pick: Over at Wagerweb
Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians
The Twins and Indians will be one of the early starts on Sunday morning and I’m looking for a low-scoring affair in this one. We’ll have Trevor May on the mound for the Twins going up against Danny Salazar for the Indians.
May has been fairly reliable this season and while his 4.15 ERA leaves a little to be desired, it is slightly inflated from his first outing of the season. He gave up five earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched to the Kansas City Royals. Other than that, he’s allowed just seven earned runs in his other four starts. He’s faced off with the Indians once this season and allowed just one earned run in six innings of work.
As for Salazar, he has a healthy 3.81 ERA and while he has given up exactly four earned runs in each of his last two starts, he’s given up just 11 on the season and he’s managed to pitch deep into games each time. Salazar has lasted at least six innings in every outing, including his opener when he went six against the Twins while allowing just two earned runs.
When you add it up, we should see a low-scoring affair in this one.
