Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at MLB Overnight Betting Lines for the games taking place on Wednesday, June 8.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds
Jaime Garcia has been steady for the most part this season for the St. Louis Cardinals but he has had some difficulty in his career here at Great American Ballpark allowing 6+ hits in each of his four previous starts here in Cincinnati with a 3-1 mark to the Over in those games and he was hammered by the Reds in his lone trip to Cincinnati last season yielding 6 runs in 4.1 innings pitched.\

On the flip side, Alfredo Simon is back on the mound for Cincinnati only because the Reds have no other options available to them. Simon continues to get hit hard with an 8.94 ERA this season and a 6.84 ERA in 5 home starts. St. Louis has scored 6+ runs in 6 of their last 9 games while Cincinnati has been surging offensively as well of late having put up 4+ runs in 10 straight games and a whopping total of 71 runs during that span. The Over is 6-2-2 in Simon’s 10 starts this season and that is a trend worth riding here.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Jake Odorizzi has been consistent all season for the Tampa Bay Rays allowing 2 runs or less in seven of his last eight starts and 4 runs in his last 18 innings pitched spanning three starts with a 3-0 mark to the Under during that span. Arizona has had a tough time scoring runs most of the season and might struggle here facing a quality arm like Odorizzi for the first time here in this game. Archie Bradley will get his third start for Arizona since getting recalled from Triple A and the difference in him since being called back up has been very noticeable. Against the Padres at home on May 29, he pitched into the eighth inning and allowed three earned runs, only one walk and struck out nine to pick up his fourth career victory.

The competition got tougher after that, when Bradley faced the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in his last start. He did not allow a run nor a base runner to reach 3rd base until the 6th inning. He surrendered only four hits, one walk and struck out 10 which was a MLB career best for him. That’s B2B quality starts in as many outings for Bradley as opposing hitters are batting just .244 against him. The most noticeable adjustment by Bradley from last season is that he has removed the slider from his repertoire and changed his curveball into a knuckle-curve hybrid. Bradley’s velocity is also up from last season, with his fastball having hit 96.6 mph on the radar gun this season. Last year, his fastball maxed out at 94.3 mph and has 4 walks and 19 strikeouts in his last two starts. All of it points to Bradley being a ‘bet on’ pitcher right now and one that I think should be able to hold the Rays in check and the Under is . I expect this game to be lower scoring with solid value to bet Under at 8.5 runs.
