We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Sunday's card. Read on for two picks that will maximize your profits after Ward vs. Kovalev II.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays

Right-hander James Shields (1-0, 1.62 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) takes the hill for the White Sox for the first time since April 16. Shields was dominant in that game against the Twins, allowing one earned run on five hits (one home run) and three walks with five strikeouts over six innings to get a no-decision in a 3-1 win and he has given up just three earned runs (three solo home runs) in 16 2/3 innings over three starts before suffering a shoulder injury.

J.A. Happ (1-4, 4.31 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) takes the hill for the Blue Jays after getting his first win of the season on Sunday, when he gave up six hits and a walk with eight strikeouts over six scoreless innings in a 4-0 victory over the Mariners. Happ has an 0.87 ERA in two day starts and I like him to have another strong showing. I'm looking at 'Under' 9 at +105 MLB odds because Shields and Happ should dominate.

Diamondbacks vs. Phillies

Robbie Ray (7-3, 2.62 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) will start for the Diamondbacks after throwing 6 2/3 scoreless innings in which he allowed just three hits and four walks with 12 strikeouts. Ray has won his last five starts, giving up just one earned run in those games (37 innings) with 48 strikeouts and he's now 4-1 with an 0.64 ERA and one complete game in six road starts.

Ben Lively (1-1, 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) will make his fourth start for the Phillies. The right-hander got a no-decision against the Red Sox on Tuesday, when he gave up three earned runs on eight hits (one home run) and two walks with two strikeouts over seven innings. Lively has allowed three earned runs or less and pitched at least seven innings in all his three starts but I just can't go against Ray right now so I'm backing the Diamondbacks -131 with my MLB picks against the struggling Phillies offense.
