We look at the MLB on this Saturday and see a lot of "middle of the road", average baseball teams. That said, there's still plenty of opportunity to turn picks into loot with our picks of the day.

Arizona Diamondbacks (4-7) vs. San Diego Padres (3-8)
Talk about a disappointment; along with Zack Greinke, Paul Goldschmidt is also off to a very slow start and it reflects in the D'Backs record. In order for Arizona to be a winner, which was expected, these two men were supposed to have big-time seasons and thus far it hasn't worked that way.

Tonight, the Diamondbacks start Shelby Miller (0-1, 8.18) and he's also been a major disappointment, coming over from St. Louis. Tonight is an opportunity for the D'Backs to get back on track with a solid start from Miller and he's quite capable of accomplishing this feat. Miller has a career 3.32 ERA and should have an easy time of it against a weak hitting San Diego Padres team in a pitcher's park such as Petco Park. Look for Miller to pitch well.

In their last 7 games, the Diamondacks have scored 4 runs or less on 6 occasions. This needs to change for them to be contenders, and the MLB Odds show it.

One player who has really stepped up his level of play after leaving Milwaukee has been Jean Segura. Segura has went from a low .200 hitter last season to leading the Diamondbacks at 3 HR, 5 RBI, and a .366 BA.

The Diamondbacks couldn't have expected a better season from Segura as he's carried this offense all season long. Segura has an amazing 28 total bases to his credit which leads Arizona. Next on the list is David Peralta. Arizona should pick up an easy win behind the bat of Segura and the arm of Miller against the pathetic Pads.

San Francisco Giants (6-5) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7-4)
Big Game in L.A.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have taken over the lead in the National League West Division and from a psychological standpoint, this is a huge game for Johnny Cueto (2-0, 4.50) and the Giants. Cueto might be undefeated, but he's been far from the elite pitcher that he was in Cincinnati two seasons ago.

The Dodgers are a team that feeds off of their pitching as they've outscored their opponents 15-6 in their last 3 games. Even with that said, they have 4 hitters hitting .350 or better and that's about as good as they can ask for.

Enrique Hernandez (2 HR, 7 RBI, .440 BA), Yasiel Puig 1 HR, 5 RBI, .366 BA) and Adrian Gonzalez (1 HR, 8 RBI, .364 BA) have all been on fire and each player has 20 total bases or more to their credit. This will be a huge test for Cueto. My gut say's that he passes and this is a low scoring grudge match for the divisional lead. Make the Under the total your MLB pick for this very competitive matchup.
