Our sports handicapping professional has gone an outstanding 16-7 during the previous nine days. He’s sharing his two top totals picks on Sunday’s MLB card.

Padres (Pomeranz) vs. Dodgers (Kershaw) 4:10 PM ET
Drew Pomeranz has acquitted himself well during his first four starts of 2016, and that’s been evidenced by a stellar 2.86 ERA in those outings. He’ll be facing a Dodgers team on Sunday that strikes out on an average of 8.0 times per game. San Diego has gone under the total in all seven road games this season, versus opponents that strike out 7.0 or more times per game.

Clayton Kershaw has been his normally dominant self to begin 2016, posting a 2.43 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in five starts. The Dodgers ace has struck out 40 and walked only 3 in 37.0 innings pitched. Since 9/21/2013, Kershaw has gone 8-0 in his team starts versus San Diego, posting an excellent 1.10 ERA, and microscopic 0.66 WHIP during those outings. The Dodgers have lost six straight games, and they’ve scored 3 runs or less in each of those outings. During this current losing streak, Los Angeles has averaged a paltry 1.8 runs and 5.5 hits per game.

Despite such a low total, I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my Sunday MLB picks will concur with that assessment.

Royals (Kennedy) vs. Mariners (Walker) 4:10 PM ET
Ian Kennedy is 2-0-2 under the total in four starts this season, and has compiled a stellar 2.77 ERA. The Royals bullpen has a very good 2.50 ERA as a staff, and they’ve struck out 75 during 72.0 innings of work. Kansas City has seen just 5 of their first 23 games (21.7%) go over the total. The Royals bats have been silent on the road, averaging a meager 2.6 runs per game, and a terrible .639 OPS.

Seattle starter Tijuan Walker is 4-0 under the total in four starts this season with an outstanding 1.44 ERA. The Mariners bullpen has been lights out thus far in 2016, posting a 2.53 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and they’ve struck out 71 men during 64.0 innings of work. Seattle’s offensive production has been anemic at home, considering their .197 team batting average, and .622 OPS at Safeco Field.

Current MLB odds at provides me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.
