Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides an MLB Early Lines Report for the baseball card taking place on Saturday, August 27.He finds two interesting picks worth checking out.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers
Pittsburgh is sending one of their most promising young arms to the mound in this game with Jameson Taillon in a great form allowing 8 runs in his last 34 innings of work and the Pirates have a rock solid 7-2 record in his last 9 trips to the mound. On the other side of this pitching equation is Jimmy Nelson who has been roughed up quite a bit for the Milwaukee Brewers since the All-Star Break. He has surrendered 4+ runs in five of his last seven starts and Milwaukee has a very poor 1-6 record in Nelson’s last 7 starts.

Pittsburgh is laying a moderate road price here for a reason and I expect them to get the win and the price is cheap enough to lay with the Pirates.

Kansas City Royals vs Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox have a strong home record and David Price is in maybe his best form of the season providing ample reason as to why Boston is a significant home favorite here but in my opinion, there is even more of a reason to support to Kansas City Royals at a most generous underdog price with their surging lefty Danny Duffy on the mound. Duffy has been nothing short of phenomenal for weeks if not months. He has allowed 3 runs or less in 9 of his last 10 starts including 2 runs or fewer in 8 of those. Kansas City is 16-3 in his 19 starts this season including an 11 game win streak for the Royals in games started by Danny Duffy this season entering this one. Duffy has a 2.04 ERA on the road this season in 8 road starts and I expect him to give the Royals a great chance to win here.

On the flip side, David Price has been much better in his last three starts allowing 4 runs in his last 22 innings of work but he was stretched out to 116 pitches in his last outing against his former team the Tampa Bay Rays and that is a concern for Price here in terms of being as effective and also his ability to pitch deep into the game which may not be there this time around. KC has hit lefties to the tune of a .273 team batting average and scoring 4.29 runs per game. If the game is close in the late stages, the Royals bullpen should have an edge as they have yet to allow a single run in their last 10 games where as the Red Sox have had some bullpen issues for the last several weeks. All of it adds up to an underdog in Kansas City that is much more live to win the game than this north of +150 MLB odds indicates.

Recommendation: Kansas City +150
