We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Saturday's card. Read on for two selections to maximize your profits before UFC Fight Night 110.

Rangers vs. Nationals

Martin Perez (2-6, 4.64 ERA, 1.64 WHIP) will take the hill for the Rangers after having one of his worst outings of the season on Sunday, when he allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits (three home runs) and three walks with two strikeouts in just 3 2/3 innings of a 7-2 loss against the Astros. Perez is 0-2 with a 4.29 ERA in four road starts and 2-3 with a 5.33 ERA in five day starts.

The Nationals will go with Gio Gonzalez (5-1, 3.03 ERA, 1.37 WHIP), who held the Dodgers to just two earned runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings of a 4-2 win last Monday. Gonzalez has two straight quality-start wins and he's looked like a top-level pitcher all season long, leading the National League with just 37 walks and an .833 winning percentage and ranking eight with a fine 3.03 ERA. The left-hander has been dominant at home, going 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in six starts and he's 2-0 with a 1.88 ERA in six day starts. I'm taking Gonzalez and the Nationals at -187 MLB odds.

Rockies vs. Cubs

Right-hander Jeff Hoffman (3-0, 2.61 ERA, 0.73 WHIP) has been impressive in four appearances (three starts) this season. Hoffman has pitched at least 5 1/3 innings and given up three earned runs or less in all his starts (all wins). He dominated the Padres last Sunday, allowing just one earned run on three hits (one home run) and no walks with nine strikeouts over seven innings of a 3-1 win and he's 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in two road starts.

Eddie Butler (3-1, 3.75 ERA, 1.38 WHIP) will make his sixth start of the season for the Cubs. The right-hander has surrendered two earned runs or less in four of his five starts, including last Monday's outing, when he held the Marlins to one earned run on three hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings of a 3-1 win. Butler is 2-0 with a 2.63 ERA in three home starts but he has a 3.38 ERA in two day starts. I'm adding the Rockies +110 to my MLB picks because of their incredible offense and Hoffman's sensational form.
