Our resident MLB handicapping professional has gone an outstanding 23-13-4 with totals picks over the past twenty days. He shares his two best totals on Wednesday’s card in this revealing betting preview article.

Reds (Iglesias) vs. Padres (Shields) 3:40 PM ET
Raisel Iglesias is 0-4 in his team starts on the road this season with a sizable 5.59 ERA. In four day game starts in 2015, Iglesias has a large 7.50 ERA and 1.72 WHIP.

James Shields is 7-1-1 over the total this season in day game starts, and posted a somewhat lofty 4.25 ERA. He’s also gone 8-2-1 over the total at Petco Park in 2015, allowing a whopping 13 home runs in just 68 2/3 innings pitched. The Padres are 22-11-1 over the total in day games this year, and have gone 11-3 over during its last fourteen overall. San Diego will face an opponent (Cincinnati) today that possesses a team batting average of .249. The Padres are 28-10 (73.7%) over the total this year versus a National League opponent who has a team batting average of .255 or less.

My lean for one of my MLB picks on Wednesday is for this game to be a high scoring affair. The major sportsbooks are divided on the total for this game today. Some are at 6.5 and the rest at 7.0. Heritage gives us the more favorable combination of number and price regarding our wager.

MLB Picks: Play the Reds and Padres over 6.5 (-115) at Heritage

Tigers (Norris) vs. Royals (Volquez) 8:10 PM ET
Southpaw Daniel Norris has seen each of his previous three road starts go under the total. During those outings, he compiled an excellent 1.04 ERA. Detroit continues to inexplicably struggle offensively in recent games. As a matter of fact, they’ve scored 2 runs or less in seven of their last ten games, and had exactly 4 hits during each of their previous three contests.

Edinson Volquez has a stellar 2.84 ERA this year in twelve starts at home. He’s also displayed very good form during his last five starts overall, posting a 2.73 ERA, and four of those five went under the total. Kansas City has gone 23-13-4 under the total this season when facing a southpaw starting pitcher.

I like this to be a low scoring game for one of my MLB picks today. According to the MLB betting odds at JustBet.com, they give us the best value.

MLB Picks: Play the Tigers and Royals under 8.0 (-115) at Just Bet
