Derek Holland (4-5, 3.43 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) will take the hill for the White Sox after having his worst start of the season last Friday, when he allowed eight earned runs on eight hits (three home runs) and two walks with two strikeouts in just 2 1/3 innings of a 15-5 loss against the Tigers. Holland has now lost three of his last four decisions and he's just 3-2 with a 3.83 ERA in seven road starts and 1-4 with a 5.40 ERA in six night starts.

The Rays will go with Jake Odorizzi (3-3, 3.53 ERA, 1.16 WHIP), who struggled in his last start just like Holland. Odorizzi gave up eight runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 2 1/3 innings of a 12-4 loss against the Mariners and he's winless since May 16, with his ERA going from 3.16 to 3.53 in that span. The right-hander has surrendered at least one home run in seven straight starts and he's posted a career-worst 1.9 home runs per nine innings (HR/9). I'm looking at 'Over' 8.5 at +106 MLB odds here, Holland has struggled all season long and Odorizzi has a 4.97 ERA in five night starts.

Twins vs. Mariners

Right-hander Ervin Santana (7-3, 2.44 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) has been one of the best pitchers in the American League this season but he has lost two of his last three decisions, including last Saturday's 7-2 setback against the Angels, his worst start of the year. Santana allowed seven earned runs on seven hits (three home runs) and three walks with two strikeouts in just four innings in Los Angeles but he still has a decent 4-1 record with a 2.18 ERA in five road starts and he's second in the American League with an 0.93 WHIP and 32 walks and third with a 2.44 ERA and 81 innings pitched, so look for him to get back on track here.

Christian Bergman (3-2, 4.36 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) will make his seventh appearance (sixth start) of the season. The right-hander has given up just two earned runs over his last 13 innings of work, as he held the Rays to just two earned runs on seven hits (two home runs) and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings last Friday. Still, I'm adding the Twins +117 to my MLB picks, Santana has been too good to have back-to-back poor outings and Bergman has a 6.04 ERA in four night starts.
