We browse the early odds board in search of betting value on Thursday's slate. Read on and find two MLB picks on American League games that will maximize your profits.

Blue Jays vs. Red Sox

Left-hander Francisco Liriano (5-5, 6.04 ERA, 1.67 WHIP) takes the hill for the Blue Jays despite experiencing neck tightness in his last start on Saturday, when he gave up five earned runs on three hits (one home run) and four walks with two strikeouts in just two innings of an 11-1 loss against the Tigers. Liriano has a poor 6.04 ERA this season and he's just 1-3 with a disastrous 8.33 ERA in seven road starts.

Doug Fister (0-3, 6.75 ERA, 1.79 WHIP) will get the ball for the Red Sox after taking the loss on a rare relief appearance against the Yankees last Saturday, when he allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks with one strikeout in just 2 2/3 innings of a 4-1 setback. Fister's ERA went from 6.14 to 6.75 after Saturday's outing and he's now 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA in two home appearances (one start). I'm looking at Over 10 at -110 MLB odds despite the high total here, as Liriano and Fister have been shadows of their former selves this season.

Rangers vs. Orioles

Cole Hamels (4-0, 3.05 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) starts for the Rangers after pitching 7 2/3 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday, surrendering just four hits and one walk with five strikeouts in a 1-0 win. It was Hamels' fourth start since returning from the disabled list with an oblique injury and it was his second consecutive appearance throwing 7 2/3 scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to a phenomenal 0.82 in three July starts. Hamels has regained his form after missing nearly two months and his dominance won't end against Baltimore.

Wade Miley (4-8, 5.40 ERA, 1.80 WHIP) will make his 20th start for the Orioles after a poor performance against the Cubs last Saturday, when he allowed seven earned runs on nine hits (two home runs) and four walks with four strikeouts in just 4 2/3 innings of a 10-3 loss. Miley is just 2-4 with a 4.63 ERA in nine home starts and the current Rangers lineup is hitting .281 against him, with Elvis Andrus going 6-for-17 with four doubles and three RBI. I'm taking Hamels and the Rangers -114 on the road with my MLB picks
