The Houston Astros are cruising toward the top seed in the American League while the Minnesota Twins cling to hope for any spot in the postseason. Here are our Twins-Astros same-game parlay picks.

The Astros host the Twins on Wednesday as one of the AL’s most consistent starters puts his incredible quality start streak on the line. Can Framber Valdez keep the vibes rolling against Dylan Bundy and the Twins?

Here are my same-game parlay picks for Wednesday’s matchup between the Twins and Astros (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Same-Game Parlay Predictions For Twins vs. Astros

Astros -1.5 (-111) ★★★★

Houston earned a 4-2 win over Minnesota on Tuesday and should be primed for another cover on the run line on Wednesday.

With the consistency of Valdez, I give the Astros lefty the pitching advantage over Dylan Bundy. The Astros rank eighth in OPS across MLB against right-handed pitching this season and should be able to scratch across some runs against Bundy and the Minnesota bullpen thereafter.

The Twins rank in the bottom half of MLB in covering the run line as underdogs this season while the Astros are fifth in the league in covering the run line as home favorites.

Valdez Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+108) ★★★★★

We lucked out with a favorable line on this prop to juice up our same-game parlay. Not only does FanDuel offer Valdez’s strikeout total at 5.5 - rather than 6.5 as I feared it might - but it does so with plus-money odds on the Over. This is an easy call for inclusion in our parlay.

Valdez has cleared 5.5 strikeouts in four out of five starts since the All-Star Break and in six of his last eight overall.

The left-hander has also quietly performed as one of MLB’s best workhorse starters this season, posting a ridiculous 20 consecutive quality starts dating back to April 25. That means you count typically count on him to stay on the mound late into the game, giving him more chances to rack up gaudy strikeout totals.

Minnesota ranks with the 11th-fewest punchouts per game in MLB this season, but the Twins went out on strikes 16 times on Tuesday against Houston.

Tucker Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105) ★★★★

For as much as I’d like to ride Alex Bregman after his 1.413 OPS with three homers over the past week, Tucker is a better bet to make noise against Minnesota’s right-handed starter.

It also helps that Tucker has been hot recently, going 10 for his last 24 with an OPS over 1.000 during the last week. Against Bundy in his career, Tucker is just 2-for-8, but the two hits were a homer and a double. Against righties this season, Tucker has an .889 OPS compared to just .680 against lefties.

His recent hot hitting and a favorable matchup have me believing Tucker will hunt down a couple of total bases on Wednesday.

Combined Odds: Astros -1.5 (-111) + Valdez Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+108) + Tucker 2+ Total Bases (+105) = +564
