We have hit the month of July and time to start off the new month right with a couple of winning betting picks as we’re almost at the mid-part of the lengthy MLB season.

St. Louis Cardinals (44-39) vs. San Francisco Giants (46-36)
No Respect For Lincecum
You would think that the San Francisco Giants would be much more of a betting favorite than just -108 after Tim Lincecum pitched a no-hitter in his last outing and is facing a starter pitcher in Marco Gonzales (0-0, 9.00) who has made just 1 start in his career and it was subpar.

Let’s also not forget to mention that San Francisco leads the National League West Division while the St. Louis Cardinals trail the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central Division. These odds are almost even; what gives?

Odds makers might be looking at St. Louis off of past years and thinking that the Lincecum no-hitter was a fluke.

The Cardinals offensively are coming off of a shameful 6-0 beating at the hands of the best pitcher in the league in Clayton Kershaw. Matt Holliday, Allen Craig, and Matt Carpenter just haven’t played as well this season. St. Louis ranks 27th in runs scored in the entire MLB and 17th in batting average. This Cardinals team is far from intimidating and Tim Lincecum has an equal offense supporting him with the likes of Buster Posey and Hunter Pence and should feel very confident going into this match-up at home and after pitching a “no-no’’.

MLB Pick: San Francisco -108 at 5 Dimes (the odds vary at the various A+ rated sportsbooks offered by SBR. 5 Dimes offers the most desirable odds.)

Texas Rangers (37-45) vs. Baltimore Orioles (43-39)
Baltimore Bats Are On Fire!
The Baltimore offense is just too good pass up after beating up on Texas 7-1 yesterday with 4 home runs in total. Even J.J. Hardy hit his 2nd home run of the season as Texas looked like a team that lost before the game started. Steve Pearce blasted 2 home runs. The slumping Rangers keep sending out one bad pitcher after another.

Tonight, Texas sends out Nick Martinez (1-5, 4.65) and Baltimore bettors should feel good about this as Martinez is coming off of a really poor and short outing in which he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in just 2 1/3 innings pitched. Adam Jones and Nelson Cruz should have a field day against pitching such as this. Martinez is inconsistent and has pitched just 2 quality starts in his last 6 outings.

Adam Jones
Nelson Cruz has been a beast all season, but he’s one of the “PED boys.” On the other hand, Adam Jones is just killing the opposition after hitting 9 HR and 20 RBI in the month of June while batting .348. Jones has hit safely in 10 out of his last 11 games and was part of the home run brigade last night against Texas starter Joe Saunders. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones went deep against the Rangers again tonight.

Odds makers have created some appealing odds with Baltimore as a -134 betting favorite, at home, and against a Texas team that looks lifeless. Baltimore is also competing for the top spot in a very weak American League East Division. Take the O’s in what should be an easy victory.

MLB Pick: Baltimore -134 at 5 Dimes
