Still engaged in the daily fight of beating the books? We've got a report that could be of use for your handicapping endeavors, as we break down the MLB betting odds and the starting pitching matchups for Tuesday.

Tampa Bay Rays (Price) vs. New York Yankees (Kuroda)
Covered by Willie Bee
David Price is pitching better than he has all season, so the Rays must love their chances of grabbing a win over an inconsistent Hiroki Kuroda (5-5, 4.23 ERA) and the Yankees.

Tampa Bay won last night's opener in extra innings and there's still a ton to play for in the wide open AL East. Instead of a money-line play though, Willie is backing the UNDER for tonight, one of many total plays on our report.

MLB Pick: UNDER 7.5

Texas Rangers (Martinez) vs. Baltimore Orioles (McFarland)
Covered by Willie Bee
The Orioles didn't have any trouble winning yesterday and the win pulled them to within one game of the Blue Jays for the top spot in the division.

Now we've got T.J. McFarland (0-1, 2.70 ERA) trying to guide Baltimore to another victory, with Nick Martinez (1-5, 4.65 ERA) set to start for the visiting Rangers. Willie likes the value with the Orioles here.

MLB Pick: Orioles -135

Chicago Cubs (Jackson) vs. Boston Red Sox (Buchholz)
Covered by Ron Patrick
Once again Jake Arrieta was in masterful form in leading the Cubs to an impressive series-opening win at Fenway last night.

We highly doubt Edwin Jackson, who's sporting a horrific 5.22 ERA on the season, will be able to be as effective in game two here. Thing is, Clay Buchholz (6.75 ERA) has been even worse, so it's no wonder Ron believes the OVER is the best way to go.

MLB Pick: OVER 9

Cincinnati Reds (Leake) vs. San Diego Padres (Kennedy)
Covered by Ron Patrick
Jesse Hahn was fantastic in San Diego's win yesterday and now it's Ian Kennedy's turn to impress. Kennedy has hit a wall as of late, however, so Cincinnati could take advantage.

That's especially true with Mike Leake on the mound, as he's been superb over his last two starts, allowing a grand total of eight hits and two runs while striking out 18 in 16 innings of work. Ron is picking the UNDER in this situation.

MLB Pick: UNDER 6.5

Colorado Rockies (Friedrich) vs. Washington Nationals (Strasburg)
Covered by Jeff Grant
A day after Jordan Zimmermann and the Nationals secured a win at home, Stephen Strasburg will try to bounce back after a horrible outing his last time out.

Strasburg is currently 6-6 with a 3.70 ERA, not the best of numbers but still far better than what Colorado's Christian Friedrich (8.10 ERA) has been able to do. Though Strasburg can be unstoppable on his day, Jeff is of the opinion taking the OVER should be our course of action.

MLB Pick: OVER 7.5

Oakland Athletics (Mills) vs. Detroit Tigers (Porcello)
Covered by Jeff Grant
You couldn't ask for a better overall matchup here, featuring two division leaders who also happen to have the two best records in the American League.

Tonight's starters will be Rick Porcello (10-4, 3.41 ERA) and Brad Mills (1-0, 4.35 ERA), so it's not a shock to see Porcello and the Tigers favored at home. With his MLB picks, though, Jeff is going a different direction by recommending the UNDER.

MLB Pick: UNDER 9

New York Mets (Matsuzaka) vs. Atlanta Braves (Minor)
Covered by Jeff Grant
It didn't take long for the Braves to find their best form again. They've now won five games on the trot, making them the hottest team in all of baseball at the moment.

They got past the Mets yesterday and will try for a repeat showing tonight behind the arm of Mike Minor, who's struggled to the tune of 2-5 and a 4.50 ERA this season. Despite his troubles, Jeff is forecasting a low-scoring game and will therefore add the UNDER.

MLB Pick: UNDER 7.5

St. Louis Cardinals (Gonzales) vs. San Francisco Giants (Lincecum)
Covered by Ron Patrick
The Giants have hit a rough patch, losing four consecutive games to subsequently lose grip of their first place position in the NL West.

Once again our handicapper is forecasting a cashed ticket for those on the UNDER, with hopes that Tim Lincecum and Marco Gonzales can stifle the opposing offenses. Will we see San Francisco avoid a fifth straight defeat?

MLB Pick: UNDER 7.5
