There are five games we're paying attention to closely today, with a host of elite pitchers like Clayton Kershaw, Felix Hernandez and David Price all in action. Which MLB picks do our cappers like most on Tuesday night?

Los Angeles Angels (Santiago) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Kershaw)
Covered by Willie Bee
The Angels won the series opener yesterday behind a great start from Garrett Richards, but it's unlikely Hector Santiago will be able to give them a similarly dominant outing. Throw in the fact ace Clayton Kershaw is on the mound for the Dodgers and you can see why the home team is such a big favorite.

Los Angeles is just one-and-a-half games up on San Francisco in the division, but Kershaw figures to give them a terrific chance to win tonight. Willie likes the Dodgers so much that he's backing them on the run-line at even money.

MLB Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (+100)

Tampa Bay Rays (Smyly) vs. Oakland Athletics (Hammel)
Covered by Ron Patrick
Drew Smyly makes his debut for the Rays tonight after getting traded from Detroit. He's gone 6-9 with a 3.93 ERA so far this season and will be hoping he can get his Tampa Bay tenure started off right.

Oakland will turn to Jason Hammel, who's been a disaster with his new ballclub. Hammel has gone 0-4 with a 9.53 ERA thus far, which certainly wasn't what the A's were expecting to get when they traded for the right-hander. Ron believes offense wins out tonight and is on the OVER to cash.

MLB Pick: OVER 7.5

Detroit Tigers (Price) vs. New York Yankees (Kuroda)
Covered by Jeff Grant
Another debut tonight, this time in New York where David Price will try to lead the Tigers to a win over the Yankees. In the biggest deadline deal of the season, Price, who went 11-8 with 3.11 ERA for Tampa Bay, was traded to Detroit.

The Yankees will have to rely on Hiroki Kuroda. He's gone 7-7 with a 3.98 ERA ahead of tonight's encounter. With his recommended MLB picks, Jeff believes New York is the best bet, but only through the first five innings.

MLB Pick: Yankees (First Five Innings)

Boston Red Sox (De La Rosa) vs. St. Louis Cardinals (Lynn)
Covered by Jeff Grant
The Red Sox have all but packed it in for the rest of the season. They're now 2-8 over their last 10 games and are in dead last in the AL East. They'll come up against St. Louis, who's won two straight to pull within one game of Milwaukee for the top spot in the NL Central.

We have Lance Lynn (11-8, 2.98 ERA) and Rubby De La Rosa (3-4, 3.64 ERA) pitching, with the MLB odds favoring St. Louis. Jeff is going a different direction though, this time putting his faith in the pitchers to show up and help keep this game's total UNDER the posted total.

MLB Pick: UNDER 7.5

San Francisco Giants (Lincecum) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (Nelson)
Covered by Ross Benjamin
Tim Lincecum has been struggling lately, so we'll have to see how he fares tonight in a tough matchup in Milwaukee. The Brewers put the ball in the glove of talented young Jimmy Nelson, who's in the middle of his first season in the majors.

We can't say we blame Ross for thinking plenty of runs will be scored, leading to a cashed ticket for the OVER. Both Lincecum and Nelson have ERAs over 4.21 and there will be plenty of great hitters taking part, including Buster Posey, Hunter Pence, Carlos Gomez and Ryan Braun. Will the OVER come through?

MLB Pick: OVER 8
