We browse the early odds board in search of betting value on Wednesday's card. Read on and find two MLB picks on American League games that will maximize your profits this week.

Twins vs. Yankees

Right-hander Bartolo Colon (6-13, 6.39 ERA, 1.60 WHIP) takes the hill for the Twins, trying to avoid losing his fourth straight start. Colon gave up four earned runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in six innings of a 4-3 loss against the Blue Jays last Friday to fall to 0-3 with a 7.53 ERA over his last three starts and he lost his only game against the Yankees this season, giving up four earned runs in four innings.

Masahiro Tanaka (12-11, 4.73 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) starts for the Yankees after allowing two earned runs on eight hits (two home runs) and two walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings of a 13-5 win against the Orioles last Thursday. I'm taking the Yankees -1.5 at -105 MLB odds, Tanaka has a 5.00 ERA over his last three starts but that's mostly because he allowed seven earned runs in four innings at Texas and Colon is really struggling right now.

Red Sox vs. Orioles

Chris Sale (16-7, 2.86 ERA, 0.96 WHIP) will start for the Red Sox, coming off a no-decision against the Rays last Friday, when he allowed four earned runs on six hits (two home runs) and three walks with nine strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings of a 13-6 win. Sale has been inconsistent lately, giving up one or fewer runs in eight of his last 13 starts, but he has given up four or more runs in four of the remaining five appearances.

Wade Miley (8-13, 5.32 ERA, 1.70 WHIP) will make his 31st start of the season for the Orioles, looking to avoid losing his fourth consecutive appearance. Miley is coming off his worst game of the season last Thursday, when he gave up six earned runs on six hits (one home run) in just 1/3 of an inning in a 13-5 loss against the Yankees. Miley is just 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA over his last three starts.

I'm looking at the Red Sox -1.5 (-125) for my MLB picks here, Chris Sale hasn't been dominant of late but he's 2-0 with a 3.21 ERA in two starts against the Orioles this season.
